Research

My research is at the intersection of applied econometrics and environmental economics. I am interested in answering environmental policy questions using quantitative information and statistical methodologies grounded in economic theory.

Examples of my work are:

  • estimating the impact of climate change on agriculture;

  • developing spatially-sensitive models for valuing multiple ecosystem services;

  • developing semi-parametric models for environmental valuation;

  • developing methods for forecasting electricity prices and macroeconomic variables;

  • estimating farmers' risk attitudes using crop insurance choice data.

I enjoy interdisciplinary research. I collaborate with environmental scientists, marine ecologists, hydrologists, geographers and, of course, economists and statisticians.
