Who We Are

We are Carleton University’s largest recreational dance team, run under the Carleton University Student Association. Since DanceLab’s founding in 2019, our team has provided weekly drop-in classes in various styles of dance, as well as classes for our members. Our members have the opportunity to participate and/or choreograph routines in several genres of dance that are showcased in our year end recital. Carleton DanceLab was created to provide an inclusive and judgement free environment for individuals, regardless of their level of experience, who wish to share their love of dance.

Drop-In Classes

Weekly dance classes in a variety of styles, catered to dancers of all levels and experience. Taught by our Executives, members, alumni and guest choreographers.

Membership

Participate in our weekly dance classes taught by our Executives and members, designed for our final showcase at the end of the year. As well as get access to our exclusive member nights and benefits!

Membership

For just a $150 membership fee, you’ll enjoy exclusive benefits at DanceLab, including unlimited access to all drop-in classes with no additional fees. As a member, you'll have the chance to participate in our year-end performance and various exciting member events throughout the year. You'll also be able to sign up for as many classes as you'd like, from technique-focused sessions to creative choreo opportunities. Our membership gives you the freedom to choreograph your own dances for the show or drop-in classes, as well as the possibility to perform solos, duets, trios, or in small groups. Beyond the studio, you’ll also get to attend fun social events and make new friends within the DanceLab community.

Drop-In

At DanceLab, you can take weekly dance classes for just $5 per class, or save with a class pack—5 classes for $20 (valid for the whole year). Classes are payable via e-transfer or cash. Each week, we offer a variety of dance styles, catering to all skill levels and experience. The class schedule and style are posted weekly on our Instagram and sent out in our newsletter, so you’ll always know what’s coming up and can join in on the fun!
