Building up on site for 2024
With attendance potentialling over 1000 campers
For those picking up youth from camp, please do not arrive at the camp prior to 11:30AM
Departure
Before arrival, please place an off-site parking pass on your dash. This gives you access to the Park without paying an access fee.
Each section decides when participants can arrive. Do not arrive before that time, as your section may not have enough volunteers on site yet to be able to check in their youth.
Plan to arrive before 8pm, or earlier if your sections so requests. At 8pm, the Group Camping Area is closed to entering vehicles.
Speed limit in the Park is 20km/h. Park staff can conduct a traffic stop and can issue tickets to speeding drivers.
When approaching the park office, do not enter the parking lot. Stop at the road stop sign, then proceed, without checking in. Proceed straight, then at the fork, proceed right to the Group Camping Area.
At the entrance, there will be a queue, where you will be asked for your Group and section name, and directed to your section's campsite.
Note: most roads on the Camporee site are one way. Please follow signage.
Find your campsite. For Cubs and Beavers, each site in the horseshoe has signs mounted on staves identifying the section(s) assigned to the site.
After unloading, if you are staying for the camp, move your vehicle to the lower parking lot, by exiting the Camporee site, and making a right on to the main camp road. After about 1km, the road ends at the lower (beach) parking lot. Attendants in the parking lot will guide you where you park.
Shuttle vans are available to transport drivers from the parking lot to the Group Camping Area entrance starting about 5:00pm. The last shuttle leaves the lower parking lot at 8pm.
Section gear arrival can begin at 4pm.
If your Colony or Pack is planning to use one of the Park's existing fire pits on or adjacent to your campsite, firewood can be purchased from the seller on Canon Smith Dr. 1km south of the park, or from the Park store (2022 price: $10/bag).
Schedule your participants to arrive at a time after at least 2 Scouters have planned to arrive.
After 8:30pm, only vehicles with on-site passes should be in the Group camping area. All other vehicles should be parked in the lower (beach) parking lot, with off-site passes displayed on the dash.
9pm: One Scouter attends the Safety Briefing at HQ.
The on-site parking pass can be picked up
Any updates to the section's list of attendees can be submitted
additional medical forms can be submitted
The Group Camping Area entrance is closed to arriving vehicles between 8pm Friday and 11am Sunday, aka "During the event"
Participants arriving during the event:
Make arrangements with your section to arrive at a particular time.
(Optional) Drop off your gear near the entrance to the Group Camping Area.
If the vehicle is staying for the rest of the camp, park in the lower (beach) parking lot, and display an off-site parking pass. Walk back up to the Group Camping Area entrance, and over to the Event HeadQuarters tent (the large tent near the entrance) to check in.
At check-in, your section will be notified of your arrival. Except for Scouters arriving late, your section, or an escort team from your section, will come to Event HQ to pick you up.
The Group Camping Area will open for vehicle access at 11am Sunday, after the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony. Vehicles may begin queueing at 10:45am, but will not be allowed access to the campsites until after all pedestrian traffic has returned from the Closing Ceremony.
Before any youth depart, sections are expected to complete a site survey with their youth to remove all litter and traces. Leave No Trace is Scouting's outdoor ethos.
The last Scouter in a section will confirm check-out at HQ.
Sections are to complete departure by 1pm.
