Hi! I’m Carla Rizzo, a researcher in algebra currently based at the Centre for Mathematics of the University of Coimbra. My work focuses on polynomial identities of associative algebras, combinatorics, and representation theory—and more recently, I’ve been exploring aspects of non-associative algebras.
I’ve held research and teaching positions in both Italy and Portugal and have published extensively in top-tier journals. I’m also an active member of the international mathematical community, frequently invited to speak at conferences and seminars.
Beyond research, I’m passionate about building community in mathematics. I’m a proud member of European Women in Mathematics, and I actively work to promote diversity and inclusion.
I’m also the creator of the Summer JIM Days, a week-long networking conference I designed to bring young mathematicians together in a friendly, dynamic environment. It combines engaging scientific activities with social events, making space for both ideas and collaboration to flourish.
Feel free to explore my research or get in touch!
