ABOUT ME

Short after finishing my undergraduate studies in translation, I started my career as a foreign language teacher. At first, I taught Spanish for translators, and English as a second language in a translation program in Peru. Then, I moved to Spain in 2003 where I continued teaching English as a second language. In 2014 my family and I moved to Switzerland for 5 years and during that time I taught Spanish to children and heritage speakers. Now a days I have more than 17 years of experience in teaching Spanish and English as FLs.

I gave a new step in my career some years ago when I started teaching online. The possibility of having students from different countries of the world is a great opportunity to know and understand better different cultures and also to teach my mother tongue in countries where there are not many Spanish teachers. That is why, I find online teaching and studying an open door for culture and knowledge, and I am sure it will be more popular and used in the coming years. Therefore, some months ago, I started a project to launch my own online space to teach Spanish, called EnEspañol.eu.

Living in Peru and Spain allowed me to learn more about my own mother tongue which I consider one of my strengths as an Spanish teacher but on the other hand, learning English, German and French has been key for me because it helped me understand better my students’ different cosmovision and adapt my classes to their needs and interests.
