Caring for different cultures in a United Europe

This Erasmus+ project started in 2022 als a project of 4 schools in 4 different European countries. Abdulkerim Bengi Anadolu Lisesi in Tarsus (Turkey), Agrupamento de Escolas de São João da Talha in Lissabon (Portugal), Colegiul National Samuil Vulcan Beius in Beius (Romania) and Atheneum GO! Geel in Geel (Belgium). It will find its conclusion in June 2024.

Our main goal is to create more cultural awareness. This will lead to mutual understanding, appreciation of our cultural diversity. And on top of this, it will enhance the feeling of being part of a united Europe. 

How DO we do that?

• We organize mobilities for students and teachers to the different countries involved, to get a real taste of the different cultural backgrounds.

• Students will stay in host families, where they will have to communicate in English and adapt to the local ways of living.

• By making thematic presentations about their own culture and traditions and presenting them to the partners during the workshop sessions, students will become more aware of their own cultural background. It will also stimulate them to explore Romanian, Turkish, Portuguese and Belgian culture.

• During the mobilities, there will be visits to museums and cultural hotspots in each country.

• To create as much impact as possible, 3 different students and 2 teachers will participate in each mobility, so the project family will grow with every trip. In the end, 48 students and 32 teachers of the four countries will have collaborated to this international project.
