Support for students preparing for future coursework or strengthening foundational skills needed for success in mathematics and other quantitative disciplines.
Examples may include:
Building algebra, function, and trigonometric fluency for future calculus courses
Strengthening quantitative reasoning skills
Developing the mathematical foundations needed for physics, chemistry, and other STEM coursework
Preparing for transitions between courses, such as Precalculus → Calculus or high school → college mathematics
Addressing foundational gaps that interfere with current learning
In addition to course content, I help students develop the habits, tools, and strategies needed to become more independent and effective learners.
Students may learn how to:
Mathematical Thinking
Translate between mathematical notation, graphs, words, and real-world contexts
Communicate mathematical thinking clearly and effectively
Recognize patterns and connections within and across topics
Organize information and approach complex problems systematically
Evaluate whether an answer is reasonable and makes sense in context
Learning & College Readiness
Ask productive questions when they become stuck
Read and learn from textbooks and course materials
Identify and address miconceptions
Learn from mistakes and use feedback effectively
Develop productive study habits for mathematics and quantitative courses
Build confidence approaching unfamiliar problems independently
Mathematical Tools
Use Desmos to explore and visualize mathematical ideas
Use graphing calculators effectively and efficiently
Interpret graphs, tables, and numerical output
Select appropriate tools and strategies for different types of problems
Use AI tools thoughtfully and productively to support learning and problem solving
Every student is different.
One of the greatest strengths of one-on-one tutoring is the ability to meet students where they are and provide the specific support, challenge, and encouragement they need to grow.
Because sessions take place virtually, students are able to learn from a familiar and comfortable environment while still engaging in highly interactive, collaborative work through shared digital tools and real-time problem solving.
In our work together:
✓ Questions are welcomed.
✓ Mistakes are part of the learning process.
✓ Concepts are connected to build deeper understanding.
✓ We focus on thinking, not just answers.
✓ Challenges are approached one step at a time.
✓ Students are encouraged to develop confidence in their own reasoning.
My goal is not simply to help students solve today's problem. It is to help them develop a stronger relationship with learning and greater confidence in their ability to tackle difficult things.
All sessions are conducted virtually and offered for students across the United States. All scheduling and session times are listed in Eastern Time (ET).
60-Minute Session — $90
A focused, one-on-one session for building clear, lasting understanding in math.
These sessions focus on helping students make sense of what they're learning: connecting ideas, filling in gaps, and developing the ability to approach problems with confidence. Rather than just getting through assignments, we focus on understanding the "why" behind the math and building thinking habits.
Students are encouraged to share current work (homework, assessments, notes), which we'll use as a starting point for deeper exploration and problem-solving.
Best for:
Regular weekly support
Reinforcing current class material
Building consistency and confidence
75-Minute Session — $112.50
A longer session for deeper exploration and more sustained problem-solving.
This option allows more time to slow down, connect ideas, and work through challenging concepts without feeling rushed. We can spend time exploring underlying concepts, working through multiple examples, and building stronger problem-solving habits.
Students are encouraged to bring current work, questions, or topics they'd like to understand more deeply.
Best for:
Students who need more time to process
Multi-step or complex topics
Occasional deeper dives
90-Minute Session — $135
An extended session designed for in-depth understanding and focused progress.
This format allows us to move beyond immediate questions and into deeper conceptual work: connecting ideas, addressing gaps, and building a stronger foundation across topics. It's especially helpful for preparing for tests, working through difficult units, or making meaningful progress in a short period of time.
Students are encouraged to share materials in advance so we can use our time effectively.
Best for:
Test preparation
Major concept review
Students looking for deeper understanding
Students who need a slower pace
45-Minute Session — $67.50
A focused session designed for students who are capable of working through math independently, but benefit from structure, accountability, and occasional guidance.
This format emphasizes staying on track and continuing forward progress. We'll check in on your work, identify next steps, and address specific questions or sticking points. Often, a brief explanation or shift in perspective is all that's needed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
This session is best suited for students who are able to engage with concepts on their own and are looking for targeted support, feedback, and direction. For deeper conceptual work and guided problem-solving, a 60-minute or longer session is recommended.
Best for:
Students already practicing independent deeper conceptual work
Students who can learn and work through material independently
Maintaining accountability and consistent progress
Quick clarification, feedback, and strategic guidance
Between-Session Support — $70/month
Learning doesn't only happen during scheduled sessions; it happens when a student is working independently as well.
For established students who could benefit from occasional guidance between meetings, I offer optional asynchronous between-session support.
This service is designed for quick questions, clarification, identifying mistakes, feedback, or determining next steps when a student becomes stuck while working independently.
Examples include:
"I know my answer is wrong, but I can't find my mistake."
"Can you help me understand this step?"
"Am I approaching this problem correctly?"
"Which idea should I start with?"
Responses are generally provided within one business day. This service is intended to provide brief guidance and support rather than replace full tutoring sessions or provide immediate, on-demand assistance. If a question would require more substantial instruction, I'll let you know and recommend we address it during our next session or schedule an additional session.
Available exclusively as an add-on for ongoing tutoring students.
The first step is a complimentary consultation.
This allows us to discuss your student's goals, current coursework, previous (and current) experiences with mathematics, and determine whether we are a good fit for one another.
If it seems like a good match, we can create a plan that supports your student's learning and goals moving forward.
