What’s the issue?
Some departments offer insufficient time to complete degrees compared to others. Re-enrollment and funding policies lack consistency and transparency, leaving students uncertain about their progress.
What I will do:
Advocate for standardized program lengths that reflect real timelines for completion across departments.
Push for clearer re-enrollment policies and streamlined funding extensions for students needing additional time.
Ensure regular reporting and oversight to reduce departmental disparities.
What’s the issue?
International students face unique hurdles, including limited CPT opportunities, double taxation, relocation costs, and visa challenges.
What I will do:
Expand Curricular Practical Training (CPT) eligibility across departments to allow international students more professional opportunities.
Push for relocation cost support to help with the financial burden of moving to Princeton.
Work with the administration to resolve double taxation issues and advocate for clear guidance on international funding and fellowships.
Improve visa support services for smoother processing.
What’s the issue?
Graduate student musicians, ensembles, and performing artists lack access to practice rooms and performance spaces reserved for undergraduates. They also do not have guaranteed seats or funding in courses offered by the Visual Arts Program and don't have access to language tables hosted in different dining halls.
What I will do:
Open practice rooms and performance spaces to graduate student musicians and ensembles.
Provide funding for more inclusive arts programming for graduate students involved in creative expression.
Use GSG funds to provide meal swipes for access to language tables of a student's choosing.
What’s the issue?
The current free meals initiative is limited to the Old Graduate College, leaving many students without access to this essential resource.
What I will do:
Advocate to expand the free meals program to other dining halls across campus [I have begun forging key relationships and collaborations to leverage advocacy].
Ensure graduate students have greater flexibility and access to affordable dining options.
Work with dining services to improve meal availability and address food insecurity.
What’s the issue?
Current leave policies (parental, medical, and mental health) often fall short of addressing graduate student needs, leading to stress and gaps in support.
What I will do:
Advocate for expanded parental leave policies to provide better time off for new parents.
Improve medical and mental health leave to ensure students can recover fully without academic penalties.
Push for more transparent and easily accessible leave processes.
What’s the issue?
Graduate student organizations play a crucial role in building community but face limited funding opportunities.
What I will do:
Expand Events Board funding and budget allocations.
Ensure all graduate student organizations—new and existing—have equitable access to funds for events, workshops, and community-building initiatives.
Streamline the application process for funding approval.
What’s the issue?
Graduate students lack a central space to build community, collaborate, and engage in creative activities. The University is breaking ground for construction around McCosh, now is our chance.
What I will do:
Establish a dedicated central building for graduate students.
Include makerspaces, ceramics studios, and workshops to encourage creativity and innovation.
Design spaces for social connection and community-building events where graduate students can relax, gather, and thrive.
What’s the issue?
Graduate students deserve more than token parity with undergraduates. Our unique needs—funding, housing, healthcare, and academic support—must be addressed to ensure success.
What I will do:
Advocate for equitable access to resources tailored to graduate student needs.
Address funding gaps, housing issues, and support systems to level the playing field for all graduate students—domestic and international.
Push for consistent communication and transparency to ensure students know their rights and resources.
