About us
The Network of Uruguay University Counsellors is your direct connection to the next generation of Uruguayan higher education students.
As part of the Caribbean and Latin America Network, we are dedicated to empowering students through comprehensive university and career guidance.
In this section, you will find information on Uruguay's educational landscape, as well as practical resources to facilitate your visit to our schools.
The Uruguayan school year typically runs from March to December, with a winter break in July. There is one American school, the Uruguayan-American School (UAS), which follows the Northern hemisphere school calendar.

Some other public holidays are celebrated on the same day yearly, but schools, banks, and other institutions remain closed on a date different from the actual holiday, according to the guidelines on the Wikipedia page linked below.

Plan Your Visit to Uruguay
Montevideo, the capital city is a very safe area, with many good restaurants, architecture, and outdoor squares and parks, together with a beautiful rambla -the seafront road. While many visitors choose to stay in the heart of Montevideo, in picturesque areas like Ciudad Vieja, many international schools are located half an hour away in the Carrasco area, which is close to the Carrasco International Airport. One may wish to consider the balance between accessibility to sites and access to schools. Montevideo is easily accessible via aeroplane or ferry from Buenos Aires.
Recommended for accommodation: Carrasco, Pocitos, Downtown
