Mr. Jay has been teaching since 1996. He taught in both rural and suburban Maine, USA, for 15 years before transforming into an international teacher in 2011, first at the American International School of Hong Kong for eight years and then at the Rabat American School in Morocco for three. Ms. Sophie started her career in the Netherlands but quickly moved into international teaching, first in 2011 as a Grade 4 teacher at the American International School of Kuwait, then in 2014 as an elementary teacher at the American International School of Hong Kong, and finally for the last three years at the Rabat American School. Mr. Jay and Ms. Sophie met in Hong Kong, fell in love, got married, and started raising a family. They then moved to Morocco to be closer to family in Europe, but a pandemic kept them grounded in Rabat. Luckily, Morocco is a beautiful country with clean air, friendly people, and the Atlantic Ocean to keep them company. But now they are resuming their quest to find a new adventure in teaching and parenting. Somewhere out in the world there is a school where Ms. Sophie and Mr. Jay can become even more awesome teachers and where their daughter and son can grow up, make life-long friends, and become international students.
