In early 2021, the original organization team below came together to host a Commutative Algebra Regional Expository Seminar (CARES) to support each others' learning efforts among similar schools. With the return of in-person seminars across midwest America in 2022, the need for a seminar like CARES declined.Â
We are happy to announce the return of CARES! The purpose of CARES has shifted to a workshop-centered community where speakers can prepare for a formal talk on an algebraic subject with the support of the organizing team. CARES is 100% digitial and hosted through our academic-invitation-only discord server. Our organization team supports graduate students by hosting an evolving list of topic ideas, assisting the release of background material for audience members, and giving feedback to speakers after a talk.
Talks at CARES should focus on expository or classical results, and avoid new research. We are also hoping to foster community among attendees, so we will have a hangout period after talks in order to network and get to know one another. Scheduling and attendance forms will be hosted through our discord page.
