The Careline Foundation is a youth community organization founded in Bellevue Washington. Our goals are to help children who suffer from pediatric cancer. Our hope is to find student leaders who are passionate about this cause, and are willing to dedicate their time, experience, and skillset's into benefiting the lives of children. As youth leaders we strive to create a lasting positive impact, and memorable memories with the patients and hope to lift the financial burden of famillies who suffer from pediatric cancer through donations. We further prioritize the impact of social interactions and through virtual zoom events, and in person volunteering we hope to see the smiles of these patients.
There is countless number of cases of pediatric cancer patients annually. Research done by the American Childhood Cancer Organization states, in the United States alone, around 15,780 children between the ages of birth to 19 years of age are known to be diagnosed with cancer. Meaning approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed before their 20th birthday. Globally there is close to 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year. Further the National Institute of Health claimed, families describes the struggles of financial hardship associated with funds caring for a child with cancer. In one study, 37% of families reported that they were forced to borrow money to cover the extra cost of treatment related to the child's illness. Not only that, but pediatric cancer patients experience breathlessness, fatigue, and other symptoms while participating in physical activity. This is why the Careline Foundation strives to fund, donate, and spend quality time with patients who struggle with this disease.Â
