CareKavach is a health and emergency safety mobile application developed and operated by A S Enterprises, India.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal and sensitive information. This Privacy Policy explains what information CareKavach accesses, collects, stores, uses, and shares, why it is used, how it is protected, and how users can manage or delete their information.

By using CareKavach, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. About CareKavach

CareKavach is designed to provide health, safety, emergency assistance, family-support, and personal health-management features.

Depending on the features you use, CareKavach may provide:

• Emergency SOS alerts

• Shake-to-SOS

• Emergency phone calling

• Emergency SMS alerts

• Live emergency location sharing

• Family emergency notifications

• Medicine tracking and reminders

• Water intake tracking and reminders

• Personal Health Vault

• Health and medical document storage

• Health records

• Step/activity-related features

• User profile and account management

• Offline functionality

• Notifications and reminders

• Advertising-supported features

CareKavach is intended as a health and safety assistance tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.

2. Information We Collect and Process

The information processed by CareKavach depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.

A. Account and Authentication Information

CareKavach may collect and process:

• Phone number

• Authentication information

• User account identifier

• Optional name or profile information

• Information necessary to maintain your CareKavach account

Phone numbers may be used for authentication, OTP verification, account security, and account management.

We do not use your phone number as advertising targeting information.

3. Health and Medical Information

CareKavach may allow users to voluntarily enter or store health-related information, including:

• Blood group

• Allergies

• Medicines

• Medicine schedules

• Health records

• Medical notes

• Emergency health information

• Medical documents

• Prescriptions

• Health reports

• Other health information voluntarily provided by the user

This information is used only to provide the health, safety, emergency, reminder, and Health Vault features selected by the user.

Health information is not required for basic use of features that do not need such information.

We do not sell health or medical information.

We do not use health or medical information for advertising personalization or advertising targeting.

We do not intentionally provide health records, medicine information, SOS history, emergency contacts, Health Vault documents, symptoms, or medical notes to advertising providers for advertising personalization.

4. Emergency SOS Information

When you activate an emergency feature, CareKavach may process information necessary to provide that emergency feature.

This may include:

• Emergency event information

• SOS status

• Emergency contact information

• Emergency location information

• Time and date of the emergency event

• Information necessary to send emergency notifications

• Information necessary to display emergency history

Emergency information is used to provide the emergency functionality requested by the user.

CareKavach does not use SOS information for advertising personalization or advertising targeting.

5. Location Information

CareKavach may access precise device location when required for emergency and live-location features.

Location may be used to:

• Share your location during an SOS event

• Help selected family members or emergency contacts understand your emergency location

• Display live emergency location on supported family/emergency screens

• Support emergency safety functionality

Location access is requested only when required by the relevant feature and according to the permissions granted by the user.

Where live location is shared, it is shared with the people or services selected or authorized by the user for the applicable emergency feature.

CareKavach does not intentionally use precise SOS location information for advertising personalization.

Precise location information is not provided to Google AdMob for advertising targeting.

Where location information is transmitted to our servers or cloud services, appropriate secure network communication is used.

6. Emergency Contacts and Contact Information

CareKavach may allow users to select and manage emergency contacts.

Depending on the device and permissions granted, the application may process:

• Contact names

• Contact phone numbers

• Emergency contact relationships or labels

• Information required to send emergency alerts

Contacts are used only for user-selected emergency and safety functionality.

CareKavach does not use emergency contact information for advertising personalization or advertising targeting.

7. Phone Calls and SMS

CareKavach may use phone and SMS-related functionality for emergency assistance.

Depending on the device, Android version, permissions, and available functionality, the application may:

• Initiate an emergency phone call

• Open the system phone/dialer interface

• Prepare or send an emergency SMS

• Provide emergency information to selected contacts

These features are used only when initiated or authorized by the user and for the intended emergency purpose.

CareKavach does not use phone call or SMS information for advertising personalization.

8. Camera, Files, and Health Vault

CareKavach provides a Personal Health Vault that may allow users to store health-related documents and images.

When the user explicitly chooses to add a document or image, CareKavach may access:

• Photos selected by the user

• Medical documents

• Prescriptions

• Health reports

• PDF files

• Other user-selected health-related files

Camera access may be used when the user explicitly chooses to capture a medical document, prescription, or health report.

CareKavach does not intentionally access the camera in the background.

CareKavach does not intentionally access unrelated files without user action.

Files and images are used to provide the Health Vault and document-management features.

9. Document Text Recognition

CareKavach may use text-recognition technology to help process documents selected by the user.

Where document text recognition is used, it is used only for the requested document-processing functionality.

Health document information obtained through document processing is not used for advertising personalization or advertising targeting.

10. Device and Technical Information

CareKavach and its third-party service providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the application.

Depending on the services used, this may include:

• Device model

• Android version

• Application version

• IP address

• Technical device information

• Application performance information

• Crash and diagnostic information

• Advertising-related identifiers

• SDK-related technical identifiers

• Information required to detect invalid activity or fraud

Technical information may be processed by third-party services such as Google services and Google Mobile Ads where applicable.

11. Firebase and Google Services

CareKavach may use Google services and Firebase services to provide application functionality.

Depending on the features enabled, these services may include:

Firebase Authentication

Used for:

• Phone authentication

• OTP verification

• Account authentication

• Account security

Firebase Firestore

May be used to securely store and synchronize application information required for features such as:

• User profiles

• Family connections

• Emergency information

• SOS-related records

• Other application data required by the relevant CareKavach features

Firebase Storage

May be used for user-selected Health Vault files, images, documents, or other supported files where applicable.

Google Play Services

May support Android-related application and device functionality.

Third-party Google services may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.

12. Advertising and Google AdMob

CareKavach currently uses Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements.

The application may display:

• Banner advertisements

• Interstitial advertisements

The current CareKavach implementation does not use App Open Ads.

Rewarded Ads may be configured in the application for future legitimate optional in-app reward functionality, but CareKavach does not currently require or use rewarded advertisements to provide emergency, health, or critical functionality.

Google AdMob may process certain advertising and technical information to provide, measure, secure, and improve advertising services.

Depending on applicable settings, consent, and regional requirements, information processed by advertising services may include:

• IP address

• Advertising identifier

• Device information

• Application information

• SDK-related identifiers

• Information about advertisements shown

• Ad interaction and measurement information

• Diagnostic and fraud-prevention information

• Approximate location information derived from technical information where applicable

Advertising information may be used for purposes such as:

• Delivering advertisements

CareKavach does not intentionally send the following information to AdMob for advertising personalization or targeting:

• Health Vault documents

• SOS history

• Emergency contacts

• Emergency event information

• Symptoms

• Sensitive health information

Google's policies prohibit using sensitive health or medical information for personalized advertising. CareKavach does not use its health or emergency data for such targeting.

13. Advertising Choices and Consent

Depending on your location, applicable laws, device settings, and Google's advertising systems, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.

Where required, CareKavach or Google may provide consent or privacy choices before personalized advertising is enabled.

Users may also have advertising-related controls available through their Android device settings or Google privacy/advertising settings.

CareKavach does not make access to emergency or critical health features dependent on watching or interacting with advertisements.

No advertisement is required to activate SOS, emergency calling, emergency SMS, live emergency location sharing, medicine reminders, water reminders, or Health Vault functionality.

14. Emergency and Critical Features Are Not Controlled by Ads

CareKavach is designed so that advertisements do not intentionally block or delay critical emergency functionality.

Advertisements are not intentionally displayed during:

• SOS activation

• Shake-to-SOS

• Active SOS

• Emergency countdown

• Emergency calling

• Emergency SMS

• Live emergency tracking

• Critical medicine reminder alerts

• Emergency permission workflows

If an advertisement fails to load, the application's core functionality continues without requiring the advertisement.

15. How We Use Information

Information processed by CareKavach may be used to:

• Provide and operate application features

• Authenticate users

• Manage user accounts

• Send SOS alerts

• Provide emergency assistance features

• Share live emergency location when authorized

• Notify selected family members or emergency contacts

• Manage medicine schedules

• Provide medicine reminders

• Track water intake

• Provide water reminders

• Store and manage Health Vault information

• Store user-selected medical documents

• Provide family-related functionality

• Synchronize application data

Emergency information and live location may be shared with selected family members or emergency contacts when the user activates or authorizes the applicable emergency feature.

• Necessary to comply with governmental requirements

• Necessary to protect the security or safety of users

• Necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents

• Necessary to protect our legal rights

We do not sell health data, emergency data, or Health Vault information.

17. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by CareKavach.

Security measures may include:

• Secure authentication

• Access controls

• Encrypted network communication

• Secure cloud services

• Appropriate protection of stored information

• Secure handling of user-selected files

• Security and fraud-prevention mechanisms provided by third-party services

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices, accounts, passwords, OTPs, and exported files.

18. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the applicable CareKavach features, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, maintain security, and fulfill legitimate business requirements.

Account Data

Account-related information may be retained while the CareKavach account remains active.

Health and Emergency Data

Health, emergency, family, and application data may be retained while required to provide the relevant features and while the user's account remains active, unless the user deletes the information earlier or applicable law requires otherwise.

Health Vault Files

Health Vault files may remain stored until the user deletes them or requests account/data deletion, subject to any lawful retention requirement.

Technical and Advertising Data

Technical, diagnostic, and advertising-related information processed by third-party providers may be retained according to the applicable provider's policies, contractual requirements, and legal obligations.

19. Account and Data Deletion

CareKavach provides users with the ability to request deletion of their account and associated personal information.

Users may initiate account deletion through the available account-management functionality inside the application.

When a valid account deletion request is processed, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account, subject to information that we are legally required or legitimately permitted to retain.

Data that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or regulatory purposes may be retained for the applicable period.

Deleting an account does not automatically delete copies of information that the user has independently exported, downloaded, or shared with other people or services.

Where third-party service providers process account information on our behalf, deletion requests will be handled in accordance with applicable technical capabilities, contractual requirements, and legal obligations.

Google Play requires apps that allow account creation to provide an in-app deletion path as well as an external web resource for deletion requests.

20. User Controls and Choices

Depending on the features available in your version of CareKavach, you may:

• Update your profile

• Edit health information

• Delete health information

• Add or remove emergency contacts

• Enable or disable notifications

• Manage application permissions

• Control location access through Android settings

• Control camera and file access through Android settings

• Manage medicine information

• Manage water tracking information

• Delete Health Vault documents

• Request account deletion

• Uninstall the application

You should also maintain appropriate backups of important information.

21. Permissions

CareKavach requests permissions only when required for a specific feature.

Location

Used for emergency location sharing and live emergency tracking when authorized.

Contacts

Used to allow the user to select emergency contacts where required.

Phone

Used to initiate emergency phone calls or related emergency functionality.

SMS

Where supported and permitted by the device and Android version, may be used for emergency SMS functionality.

Notifications

Used for:

• SOS alerts

• Emergency notifications

• Medicine reminders

• Water reminders

• Safety notifications

• Other application notifications

Camera

Used when the user explicitly chooses to capture a medical document, prescription, or health report for the Health Vault.

Files / Photos / Media

Used when the user explicitly selects documents, images, or other files for Health Vault or related functionality.

CareKavach does not intentionally access the camera or unrelated personal files in the background.

22. Children's Privacy

CareKavach is a health and emergency safety application intended for general users and families.

CareKavach is not directed to children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for the purpose of creating or maintaining a CareKavach account.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to us, they may contact us using the information provided below.

23. Third-Party Services and Privacy Policies

CareKavach may use third-party services to provide application functionality.

These may include Google services such as:

• Firebase Authentication

• Firebase Firestore

• Firebase Storage

• Google Mobile Ads / AdMob

• Google Play Services

These third parties may process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, and applicable laws.

24. Health and Medical Disclaimer

CareKavach is intended to provide health organization, reminders, emergency assistance, communication, and safety-support features.

CareKavach is not intended to replace:

• A qualified medical professional

• Emergency medical services

• A doctor or healthcare provider

• Professional diagnosis

• Professional treatment

• Emergency medical judgment

In a life-threatening emergency, users should contact the appropriate local emergency services or seek professional medical assistance.

CareKavach's emergency features depend on device availability, network connectivity, permissions, GPS/location availability, carrier services, device configuration, and other technical conditions. We cannot guarantee that an emergency communication, call, SMS, or location transmission will always succeed.

25. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

• Changes to CareKavach features

• Changes in data handling practices

• Changes to third-party services

• Changes in applicable laws or regulations
