About
Careese Hutchinson is a passionate writer and creative with a strong foundation in literature, film studies, and storytelling. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1 in English and Film with Television, developing both her creativity and analytical skills while actively engaging in a range of extracurricular activities. She later completed a Master’s in Creative Writing to further refine her voice and craft.
Beyond her academic background, Careese serves as a Youth Board Member for Writing East Midlands and Nottingham Playhouse. In these roles, she is dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and championing inclusivity within the creative sector, particularly for underrepresented communities.
Her passions lie in creative writing, film, theatre, and meaningful storytelling. Whether crafting scripts, writing poetry, or collaborating on community-focused projects, she aims to contribute to a more inclusive and representative arts industry. Writing has been her dream since childhood, and that early aspiration continues to motivate her: to inspire change, foster connection, and reflect the complexity of her experiences of sexuality, AuDHD, and diasporic heritage.
Careese’s creative practice spans fiction, poetry, scriptwriting, editing, and theatre. She is particularly interested in working with young people, encouraging them to engage with the English curriculum through alternative and creative approaches.
