CAREER: Grasping Understandings of Students’ Mathematical and Perceptual Strategies

This CAREER grant is a research project supported by NSF RETTL and EHR Core focusing on students’ mathematical and perceptual strategies using real-time teacher orchestration tools. This grant consists of 5 sub-projects: (1) examining various mechanisms of mathematical performance, (2) developing and validating real-time strategy detectors, (3) iterative teacher-centric design of orchestration tool, (4) development of the orchestration tool, and (5) establishing the feasibility of the designed tool.

We worked with several teachers on the iterative design and development of the teacher-centric dashboard: MathFlowLens (available at: www.mathflowlens.com) during SY 2022-2023. We are now working on adding new components and improving this orchestration tool.
