In November, DoorDash laid off 6%, Candy Digital laid off 33%, Redfin laid off 13%, Amazon laid off 1%, Meta laid off 13%, and Twitter laid off 50% of their workforce. Zillow laid off 5% of its workforce in October, while Peloton laid off 12% and DocuSign laid off 9% in September. In July, Outbrain laid off 3%, Lyft laid off 2%, The Mom Project laid off 15%, Opensea laid off 20%, and Bird laid off 23%. In June, Substack laid off 14%, Ninantic laid off 8%, MasterClass laid off 20%, and Superhuman laid off 22%. Cameo laid off 25% in May, while Robinhood laid off 9% in April. Finally, Beachbody laid off 10% in January, and Virgin Hyperloop laid off 50% of their workforce in February.

THE 2023 LAYOFFs and Encounting

Early 2023 saw multiple companies laid off a percentage of their workforce. The list includes Twilio, Roomba, Disney, Zoom, Dell, HubSpot, PayPal, IBM, Gemini, Yankee Candle, 3M, Spotify, Google (Alphabet), Microsoft, Amazon, Carta, Coinbase, DirecTV, Salesforce, Vimeo, Goldman Sachs, Compass, and Stitch Fix. 2020 was a tough year. I never thought I'd be in that position. I was warded due to COVID-19 and then lost my job due to the pandemic's impact on my Company's earnings. I was devastated. I had dedicated so much of my life to that Financials working career. I FELT BETRAYED BY THE TOP BRASS THOUGH I ASKED FOR A PAY CUT AND EVEN AN UNPAID SALARY OPTION!

I struggled as I was lost in the beginning. I applied to many other Companies within the Industry but it was futile. It struck me then with an idea. What if I could reset and find a different career success elsewhere? I threw myself into learning everything I could albeit depleting coffer. It wasn't easy as I didn't know how and where to make the first small step. There were times when I felt like giving up. But I kept going, referring to The Internet Gurus and following their Mentoring classes. I readjusted and realigned and gradually, I started making sales. And then more sales. And more.

Now, I wake up every day excited to work on my own terms. I am my own boss, and I am in control of my future.

Right now, I am appalled by the uncertainties of the economic indicators due to various turmoils. I am sharing this with the Community so that you're prepared and not left high and dry when the dreadful news comes upon you.
