The Care4U App is designed to provide remote control, safety, and monitoring solutions for children, elderly users, and lost phone recovery by leveraging SMS commands without requiring internet connectivity.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal personal data required for the app’s functionality:

• SMS Commands: Predefined SMS messages (e.g., "SOUND," "SILENT," "LOCATE") to execute actions like restoring sound or retrieving location.

• Location Data: GPS coordinates are retrieved only when requested via SMS and sent directly to the authorized sender.

• Device Admin Permission: Used exclusively to lock the phone remotely.

• Call Log Data: Accessed to detect missed calls and notify users of urgent ones.

• Phone State Data: Monitored to detect active or missed calls and enable related features.

2. How We Use Your Information
The collected data is used solely for the following purposes:

• Responding to SMS-based commands (e.g., sound restoration, locking the device).

• Providing real-time location updates to authorized users for safety and recovery purposes.

• Managing child device usage by setting screen time limits remotely via SMS.

• Securing lost or stolen devices through locking or stealth operations.

• Sending SMS notifications to missed callers, suggesting further action (e.g., sending a "SOUND" command for urgent calls). 

• Sound Settings: Enable users to switch between sound, vibrate, and silent modes via SMS and set ring volume to max or min. 

• Volume Settings: Adjust max/min call and media volume remotely via SMS.

• Device Lock Settings: Lock the device based on a configured time and authenticate via biometrics/security/password.

• Permission Status Control: Display required permissions (SMS, Location, DND, Device Admin, Call Log, Phone State, and Battery Optimization) based on the module in use. Users can also revoke permissions through this feature if needed. 

Note:

• The app works entirely offline (without internet) for enhanced privacy and reliability.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, or disclose personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

• Legal Compliance: When required by law, regulation, or government authorities.

• Device Recovery Assistance: When you choose to share location data with authorized contacts (e.g., family or friends).

Note: The app does not collect or share any media data. 

4. Permissions Required

To deliver the app’s full functionality, the following permissions are required: 

• SMS Permission: To read and respond to incoming commands.

• DND Permission: To switch between silent and sound modes.

• Location Permission: To provide the device's current location on request.

• Device Admin Permission: To lock the device remotely.

• Call Log Permission: To access missed call details and notify callers via SMS.

• Phone State Permission: To detect active and missed calls for SMS notifications.

• Battery Optimization: To prevent the app from being closed by the system for battery-saving purposes.

• Permissions are used only for their intended purposes.

• Users can manage or revoke permissions via phone settings or the Care4U app’s permission status page 

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:

• Encrypted Transmission: Location and other sensitive data are transmitted securely via SMS.

• No Cloud Storage: All data remains on the device, avoiding exposure to third-party servers.

6. Data Retention Policy

We do not retain personal data beyond what is required for the app’s functionality.

• Location Data: Not stored within the app; it is sent directly to the SMS sender.

• Call Log Data: Temporarily accessed to detect missed calls and notify callers via SMS. This data is not stored. 

7. User Control and Rights

You have the following rights and control over your data:

• Revoke Permissions: Manage or revoke permissions anytime via device settings or the Care4U app.

• Uninstall the App: Uninstalling the app will terminate all functionalities.

• Request Data Deletion: If applicable, you can request deletion of any SMS-based data collected through the app.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is designed for parents and guardians to monitor and manage their child’s device usage.

• Parental Consent: No data is collected from children under 13 without parental consent.

• Parental Control: Guardians can manage permissions, restrict features, and delete collected data.

9. Core Functionality & Permissions Use

The app uses SMS and call log permissions for the following:

• Core Features: Execute SMS commands to lock devices, change profiles, retrieve location, and notify missed calls.

• Missed Call Notifications: Detect missed calls and notify users with suggestions (e.g., follow-up actions).

Permissions Used:

• SMS Permissions: To read incoming commands and send responses.

• Call Log Permissions: To identify missed calls and notify users.

Note: Permissions are used exclusively for these functionalities, and data is never shared or sold for non-core purposes.
