Throughout the pandemic news reports and papers mentioned the concern of packed grocery stores. We thought of our grocery store employees in the area and wanted to let them know that their hard work does not go unnoticed!
Grocery store employees range from all ages and persevered to help our communities. They not only committed to their jobs making sure that we received food safely, but also put their lives at risk in the face of COVID-19.
From May 22 to June 12, 2020, Cards for Community made about 180 cards for 3 stores: Market Basket in Plaistow, NH, Hannaford's in Hampstead, NH, and Shaw's in Plaistow, NH. The stores handed out some cards to their workers and also hung cards around the store!
Here is a thank you note from Sean Moreau, Assistant Store Manager at Hannaford's:
We really appreciate the Thank You cards you brought by today! I handed out most of them to associates today and everyone was extremely grateful! We put the rest up on some communication boards so everyone can read them. This is extremely thoughtful and brightened a lot of people's day ! We are all in this pandemic together, we are so grateful to do our part in the community and we really appreciate the recognition!Thank you!
