School Courses Offered

Laguna Creek High School has a variety of ways in which you can participate in the theater arts including:

Theater 1:

Theater 1 is a fun beginning level course for those who have never done theater before, need a theater refresher, or feel they need a bit more experience before advancing to Theater 2. We cover stagecraft, monologues, duo scenes, and acting exercises while exploring the differences between all levels of theater arts. Overall this is a fun beginning level course and all students regardless of their previous background in theater are welcome to join!

Advanced Theater Classes:

Advanced theater includes levels of theater 2 and above, and builds on what is learned in theater 1. Only students with a solid level of previous acting or theater experience should jump straight into this course but anyone who takes theater 1 may advance to theater 2 the next year. This class covers advanced acting techniques, musical theater, movement, some stagecraft and design, along with many other advanced theater topics. All Theater 2 and 3 students are required to participate in some way in both the fall and spring productions.

Stagecraft and Production:

This class is for students of any level who are interested in learning the skills and techniques needed to be backstage or crew for a theatrical production. Students will learn about costume design and construction, lighting design and light hanging, set design and construction, prop sourcing and creation, and of course hard work and safety! All students will meaningfully contribute to the fall and spring productions for LCHS Cardinal Theater!
