Cardinal Staff

Matt played varsity tennis for six years at Irmo High School. At Erskine College, his tennis team advanced to the NCAA tournament. He was named MVP his senior year. Following his graduation from Erskine College, Matt began his tennis teaching career at Cobbs Glen Country Club, where he was the head pro for six years. He has worked with adults and students of all ages and levels and has been here at Cardinal since 2008 as the Assistant Professional before being named Director of Tennis in 2010.

Matthew has been part of the Cardinal family since he was five years old and grew up playing junior tennis at Cardinal. He is a USTA 4.5 player and a certified USPTA professional. He is dedicated to the advancement of the club in every way. He has worked with adults and juniors in private lessons as well as clinics.

Alison Mays

Assistant Pro

Alison and her husband Dean are long-time members of Cardinal Racquet Club. She is a 4.5 player, loves tennis, loves pickleball, and enjoys the family atmosphere at Cardinal. Alison has been USPTA certified for over 20 years, and she has recently added her pickleball certification.
