Outreach. Connection. Direction.
The Cardinal Direction Clinic is student-run healthcare initiative founded by University of Louisville School of Medicine (ULSOM) students to address local health disparities through accessible, holistic care. Operating at Holy Name Catholic Church alongside the Father Jack Jones Food Pantry, the clinic offers acute care, health screenings, and crucial health literacy education. Its innovative model is built on interprofessional collaboration, involving UofL Schools of Nursing, Public Health, and Social Work, and is overseen by volunteer physicians in a resident-attending mentorship model, ensuring high-quality, supervised clinical experience for students.
The clinic's ability to provide comprehensive support is strengthened by key partnerships with Supplies Overseas (SOS) International for resources, the Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute for expertise on social determinants of health, and the Greater Louisville Medical Society (GLMS) for professional mentorship, reflecting a deep commitment to serving the whole person and building a healthier Louisville community.
