In my first semester of my MS Human Factors program, I took a computer science class on User Experience. Throughout the entire semester, I worked with a team students ( some of the best teammates I've ever worked with) to develop a digital phone application that addressed a need. We decided to make a navigation app that helped target some of our shared frustrations with road-trip planning. Over the course of this project, we made multiple prototypes and wireframes, mapped the user experience, created user personas, and had test users test the app's usability.
This is our proposal to the teaching team where we outlined why the app is necessary, who it supports, and why we want to develop this app.
This is the first slide of our final project presentation. Here we outline the key features of the app and who this app is for.
This shows the evolution of our homepage. One of the elements that we received feedback on from our user testing, is the menu buttons. It was found that two of our buttons were redundant so we removed it for the final iteration. We did our first wireframing on a whiteboard where we drew arrows between the different buttons and pages. Then we made a low fidelity wireframe in Google Slides. This way, we could actually link the buttons between the different slides. We finally made the final iteration in Figma, where we could more easily map all of the pages.
This is another example of one of our pages.
