once he inherits a company that deals in weaponry rand quickly overturns this by changing everything for possibly charitable purposes. he learns he's adopted and finds that he's related to lews therin and he's left wondering if his fate will be the same as his seemingly insane relative.

Rand came from a small town and knew his whole life taht he wanted to uphold whatever sense of justice he was raised with. After he learned of his adoption, he decided to not invest in his inheritance and left to the city on his own. With the knowledge that one of his blood relatives went mad and killed his whole family, Rand is intent on finding justice for people. In the city he becomes a very dedicated cop.

on the same day that dragons were born again into westeros rand developed magical abilities that named him chief of chiefs of his clan in the red waste.  with the title came a prophecy that he's still uncertain about and is currently wondering whether or not he should invade westeros as the propechy says he should.

his noble family were chased from westeros during the conquest and rand was born years and years later. his house was small and quiet but now he seeks out the restoration of it justly within the realm of westeros, not caring who stands in opposition.

growing up on a farm outside of novigrad, rand was raised by his father a brandy merchant. one day he was venturing out on his own and got into a skirmish with local toughs. a fight ensued and there is where he realized that he had powers. narrowly he escaped the witch hunters and is now on the run wanting to know more about himself.

Rand is part of the race of Elves called  the Aen Elle. He holds great power among the Aen Elle and is more curious than he ought to be. Often he finds himself attempting to touch other realms so that he could discover more knowledge about those of other races.

rand grew up in the heartlands with his father, who one day confessed that rand was adopted and that his real parents were from saint denis. after a brief investigation into his birth parents he found that his parents had a hand in a “righteous” strand of law breaking. rand leaves home, ends up a bounty hunter and tries to find his own identity.

during puberty rand realized that he had the ability to manipulate molecules. his power rages and he barely can contain it. with his mind out of his hands he seeks shelter at professor x's school.

against the night - dragon age origins

The son of a Templar Knight, Rand was known to have magic from a very young age. Fearing his fate given what his father had done himself in his hunting, Rand was given to a Dalish clan as a small child for safe keeping. He doesn't remember his birth family but he does, of course, know that he's different from those he'd grown up with. He feels that he has a destiny linked with his magic and the Blight. He is very capable in Spirit and Elemental magic with a specialization also in Rift magic.

A powerful Mage who had formerly agreed to conscription to the Grey Wardens finds himself searching for the source of the Calling in the vinmark mountains. He got stuck there and has been going mad ever since. (verse dependent)

Rand is a powerful Mage from Orlais. Recently he learned that he is an heir to a powerful Orlesian family that is bereft with political scandal. With the house nearly run dry he pledges his strength to the Inquisition.

into his darkest dream - lotr

Rand is one of the Istari sent from the Valar to the peoples of Middle Earth. It has been a long time since he was sent and his original purpose (offering hope and advancement) has been somewhat lost to him. His mind has warped ever since his journey into the caves of Moria and he therefore changed his appearance and found himself remaining with the Elves in Lothlorien trying to figure out his memory as well as his massive powers. Rand is a being that lives in isolation near the moutains of Caradhras. He stepped from the Westlands after the end of The Last Battle and found himself in another world, during another time and is quite unsure how to get back. Or if he wants to.

Rand is a Lightweaver. His powers are erratic at times but strong. His abilities with Surgebinding is remarkable but he has problems keeping control on himself. He has a voice in his head that he attributes to what he beleives might be one of the Heralds - or someone like them but this has not been confirmed. He has yet to swear a high ideal given his inability to be truthful with himself. His spren is a Cryptic named Swirl who he has a rather close Bond with.

after a snapping - mistborn era 1

Rand is  a Mistborn, raised on a Skaa farm he left when Kelsier destroyed it and killed its head. He immediately joined up with the rebel forces and found himself Snapping in the process. His powers are immense but he has a strength in Tin and Pewter.

from another universe - assassin's creed

all of his life rand knew that he was different. he always had knowledge of the assassins and the templars but chose neither side in spite of his growing skill. instead he listened to those voices that sounded at the back of his head. the ones that told him that they were from the ancient civilizations and they use him to guide the way of the ongoing war.

against the stem - grishaverse

Rand is a survivor from the experiments that the Shu conduct and the Jurda Parem drug.  He was taken off the drug with the antidote and has returned to living with other Grisha like him. As an Inferni he is part of the Etherealki Order. But since his taking of the antidote Rand's powers have escalated and they have also been supremely hard to control, although he has not told anyone. He is also physically scarred from his ordeal and usually keeps his cloak up over his head so that he isn't instantly spotted.

up admist the galaxy - star wars

rand is a padawan to lan al’mandragoran, eager to see his name among the jedi masters and those on the council. however before he can be named a jedi master, as lan decided he was ready, the sith rose up and overtook the empire. quickly rand finds that jedi are not accepted and he finds himself a rebel to the empire.

frenzied flame - elden ring

On his quest to returning to The Lands Between Rand is a Tarnished and is in search of becoming the Elden Lord, intent on mending the world and whatever chaos has touched it. However something shifts and he instead becomes the Lord of Chaos and is set to burn the world, to break it, as the Outer God sees fit.

to swim in strange water - dune

Rand is a product of the Bene Gesserit breeding program and therefore a failed Kwisatz Haderach. His innate madness, that has dampened his life, and his inability to have children marked him out however there is still power in him that he does not acknowledge.

out in the wasteland - fallout series

Rand was born in a vault that functioned more as a cult than anything. He was raised to believe that he was meant to save the population on the surface. When the vault eventually failed Rand managed to be reared by AI and robots within the vault who he eventually took with him to the surface to discover whether or not what he was raised on was true.
