Hello - someone broke the glass on my driver side sideview mirror. It's presumably easy to replace so I wanted to just order the glass but I can't find it listed by its model number (which looks like it was changed after part was made?) Does anyone have any insight into this? Any help is much appreciated, as while I'm pretty handy, I don't have a lot of experience with auto parts.

I've always wanted wing mirrors which can minimize if not totally eliminate the blind spot, so I wanted to try them all out to see which best achieved this. The Hansshow wing mirrors looked to have the widest angle view, closely beating out the Suma wing mirrors (by 9%), themselves beating out the Europe OEM (by 8%), which of course easily beat the US OEM (driver side) by around 40%.

I understand that, with driver profiles, you can save the position of the side mirror angles for both driving and a separate position for reversing by adjusting the mirrors while in reverse and saving the profile.

I am considering ordering Model Y (my first EV) and during the test drive I found that side mirrors are too small and rear view mirror have extremely poor visibility. In addition, there are no blind spot warnings on the mirror. I was excited about all the tech and performance but this was a big turnoff for me. Sales person suggested turning the rear camera view on the screen as a workaround which I do not like for my full daily rides. He also suggested looking at the screen for red lines and cars, which I don't like and also don't trust as I noticed a delay of a few seconds for cars to appear on the screen after they pass at a traffic light.

Are there any off the market solutions to solve visibility problems(I don't want to keep my rear camera displayed at the front screen all the time)? May be replacing rear view and side mirrors (not sure if that's possible for side mirrors).

My girlfriend got clipped by a truck while driving my 2011 Edge SEL and lost the passenger sideview mirror. No other damage, thankfully, but she didn't get the driver's info and I'm not willing to submit a claim on my insurance to fix it. I found some nice mirrors on eBay from a 2012 Edge Limited which are much cheaper than the $400 Ford wants for a brand new mirror. It looks like the only difference between the 2011 SEL mirror and the 2012 Limited mirror is that the latter has a feature for mirror memory (whatever that means). Anyone know how these mirrors would be different? I assume the only difference is the pinouts on the connectors. Is there a diagram somewhere of exactly which pins lead to which mirror feature? Thanks.

From what I've seen, that looks about right. So I think we've determined that the mirror style of the 2012 and later 2011s is the same. Now the question is whether a mirror from a 2012 with more features (ie the memory thing) can be hooked up to a 2011 with fewer features (only missing the memory thing). As I mentioned, I imagine that the only difference is the number of pins to worry about. So it's a question of whether Ford keeps the pinouts basically the same between the different trim packages or changes them drastically. My basic plan is to just hook up the connections I have to the corresponding connections on the new mirror and leave the memory port open. I can rearrange wires inside the Molex connector if need be to account for changed pin numbers. Does anyone have a good idea of how to determine which pin does what? My best idea at this point is just to put a voltmeter across the various pins and push buttons until I figure out what they do.

I have a very similar problem to this, did you ever find a wiring diagram for the pins on the various Molex Connectors? My wife mysteriously lost the driver side mirror on her 2012 Edge, so I ordered a new one from Ebay that I thought was a non-memory mirror. Well a couple weeks went by after purchasing it before I decided to put it on, so I don't really have the option of returning it anymore. Problem is, the up switch makes it go down, down makes it go up, and left/right don't do anything. Our Edge is a non Memory vehicle, and I'm guessing the description for the mirror I purchased was wrong, and its actually from a memory vehicle. Does anyone have an idea where I could find a wiring diagram for a memory, and non memory vehicle so I can try changing the plugs around?

Thanks, but my mirrors have BLIS, heat and have turn signals on the front cover. I still can't figure out why turn signals on the front cover. Even so, the side mirror is much smaller than the mirrors on my 2012.

Instead of changing the pivot, to mirror objects around the center of the world, you can also do it this way:

Duplicate the object (Ctrl +d). Group it (Ctrl+g). Change the scale of the group to -1. Ungroup the object (Shift + p) and delete the group node if not needed.

The cleanest mirror is to use Mirror geometry from the Mesh menu. By default it will mirror around the bounding box of the object (not pivot or world) but that can be easily fixed by typing 0 in the Pivot attribute of the polyMirror node. Also geometry remains part of the same mesh but if desired can be separated by using Separate from the Mesh menu.

I bought a tc yesterday and I like it, but I'm confused. I bought a XL model and there is no mirror adjustment switch. Is this only in the XLT model. If I adjust the mirrors, I have to manually push on the glass. This doesn't make sense to me. It's a van! I can see the plug in the door panel. Almost like they forgot to install it. Ant help would be appreciated.

My 2018 XL cargo model also has manual mirrors. Yes, you push on the glass to adjust. Did it once about 2 years ago and haven't had to re-adjust them since. Not all vans come with electric adjust mirrors... not a standard feature.

Good to know. I'm in the process of buying one, and it also has the blockout panel. I was afraid of pushing the mirrors too hard and stripping something, as it feels like there's a power mechanism in the assembly. I'm VERY surprised that this wasn't standard on the "wagon" configuration. It would be understandable on a work van, but the wagon is a people hauler!

Leaves different size gaps on both sides, removed and reinstalled a bunch of times with new tape. Scratched my side mirrors but still have gaps no matter how many times I tried. Also, the carbon design on each side is different which sucks. Overall it's not great but usable I guess.
