This Privacy Policy describes how the Find My Car: Auto Park app ("we," "us," or "our") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your data is handled securely and transparently.
To provide the core functionality of marking and finding your vehicle, the app collects location data:
Foreground Location: Used when you manually mark your parking spot or use the live navigation feature.
Background Location: If you enable the "Auto-Save" feature, the app collects location data even when the app is closed or not in use. This allows the app to automatically record your parking spot the moment you disconnect from your car’s Bluetooth. This data is processed locally and is not shared with third parties.
The app accesses your list of paired Bluetooth devices and monitors connection states to detect when you enter or leave your vehicle. This is used solely to trigger the automatic saving or clearing of your parking spot.
If you use the "Voice Note" feature, the app uses your device's speech-to-text functionality to record notes about your parking location. These notes are converted to text and stored locally on your device.
We use basic analytics to understand app usage (e.g., how many times a parking spot is marked). For this purpose, we collect:
Device Identifiers: A persistent identifier (Android ID) to distinguish unique users for analytics purposes.
Device Info: Device manufacturer and model name.
Interaction Data: Event logs such as "App Open" or "Navigate Started."
Note: This data is used solely to improve the app's performance and is not used for advertising or shared with third parties.
Local Processing: Your parking locations, voice notes, and parking history are stored locally on your device.
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your location data or personal information with third parties or advertising agencies.
Security: All data transmitted to our internal analytics server is encrypted via HTTPS.
The app requests the following permissions to function correctly:
Location (Fine/Coarse/Background): To mark your vehicle's position accurately.
Bluetooth / Nearby Devices: To detect your car's connection status automatically.
Microphone: For recording and converting voice notes.
Notifications: To alert you about parking timers and auto-save confirmations.
Foreground Service: Our "Live Navigation" feature provides real-time guidance to walk you back to your vehicle. This requires a foreground service to ensure the GPS and compass remain active even if your device screen dims.
Parking history is stored on your device until you choose to clear it within the app. Analytics data associated with your device ID can be deleted upon request or automatically deleted after 90 days.
