Vehicle Fire Aftermath: Smoke Rises in the Air on Interstate
On November 2, 2025, after returning from the de Young Museum in San Francisco (an assignment required for one of my classes this semester), I witnessed the aftermath of a vehicle fire. The museum is located in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. While I was on the highway toward San Rafael, heading back from the museum near Interstate 580, I saw thick black smoke rising high into the clear blue sky at around 2:00 PM. I received a notification through an app called PulsePoint, an app that sends out real-time 911 emergency alerts, specifically for fire and medical emergencies, but not for police calls. The scene was extremely intense and powerful. I could see firefighters responding and performing their line of duty, and the air was filled with a strong amount of smoke from the aftermath of the vehicle fire.
