Captains Quarters Private Campground and Hobby Farm .  Our current hospice care equine is a 42 year old special needs dwarf donkey. His name is Captain, born with an inverted hoof , blind in one eye and severe arthritis he gets around very well, loves attention along with daily grooming sessions. We are the second rescuers to have Captain in our care. His first rescuer Kim is also an amazing big-hearted person.  She handed Captain over to us because he got to the stage of needing hospice.  He did not have a good start in life. His original owners did not treat him well.

Sadly Captain Eor Crunch Tucker has been laid to rest on April 22 of 2024 at 43 years of age.

He stole and warmed the hearts of all that came to meet and know him. Despite the difficult start he had in life and hardships he had to endure along with his special needs he was always gentle natured. He is sorely missed now free from earthly bonds roaming lush and abundant pastures of the heavens.

Rest in peace sweet Captain

Many of our rescues have been successfully re-homed to good forever homes.

Currently we have 13 ducks all of which were incubated from original rescues . Two goslings named Cagney and Lacy  have now joined our little farm . Our most recent equine hospice is Andy Jon Tucker a retired pack mule approximate age between 20 and 25.

Also common with any farm or ranch we have several semi feral  cats, many I have socialized and found good homes for.

Current  projects ( 2023)  wildlife restoration habitats and wildlife refuge maintenance which have become a stopping place for wild migrating water fowl as well as the Oregon tree frog . All of the goats have been  successfully rehomed.

What is  refuge?

A refuge is a safe haven for wildlife to traverse safely during migratory seasons no wildlife is ever held captive.

Pronghorn quick facts: Did you know  Pronghorn can run at speeds close to 60 miles an hour.

Pronghorn can see movement up to 4 miles away, thanks to their large, forward-facing eyes and a 300-degree field of vision. This exceptional eyesight is a key part of their defense against predators.

Star gazing at its best, under desert skies, with no light pollution and a peaceful nights rest.

Bring binoculars for wildlife viewing.

Enjoy the journey and appreciate the destinations
