Captain Alexis Fecteau cannot say enough good things about Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner. After all, the Dreamliner is the aircraft responsible for launching the new era in commercial aviation with its many next-gen features. No other aircraft before it has been quite as beneficial for both airlines and passengers.

The surprising thing about the Dreamliner is that it stands out from the pack not because of its size, but rather its unmatched performance.

In fact, for the Dreamliner, Boeing chose to go smaller. With the twin-engine manufacturers’ race experiencing fierce competition, and the 777 being the best-selling airplane of all time, the Dreamliner had a lot to live up to. Truth be told, many industry experts believed that the aircraft would determine Boeing’s place in the future of aviation.

But Boeing being Boeing did not disappoint.

The design and construction of the Dreamliner using composite materials that included carbon fiber made the aircraft lighter. Moreover, state-of-the-art engines from Rolls Royce and General Electric allowed the airplane to travel farther than any similarly modeled plane before it.

Even with all the delays the production experienced, the Dreamliner was worth the wait. Today, it has become one of the most popular commercial airplanes of airlines because of its efficiency and reduced operating cost.

Captain Alexis Fecteau knows that for the Dreamliner, the sky is both figuratively and literally the limit.
