First Process:
It was determined that the ‘robot’ saves McKenney’s Inc employees up to 260 hours a year through automating this workflow. The ‘robot’ is run three times a week and the results are made available to employees who can now spend their time analyzing critical data and focus on their core competencies.
Solution:
For the first process, the team automated the process of data retrieval from Salesforce and importing report data to a 'SmartSheet' (cloud based excel type service) document.
Second Process:
It was determined that the ‘robot’ saves McKenney’s Inc employees up to 50 hours a year through automating this workflow. The ‘robot’ allows McKenney’s to onboard employees faster and in a more efficient manner. Further, it eliminates the need for employees to manually create accounts potentially creating errors.
Solution:
For the second process, the team automated the process of creating new account(s)on business applications for new hires.
Third Process:
It was determined that the ‘robot’ saves McKenney’s Inc employees up to 4 hours a year through automating this workflow. The employee can now spend their time analyzing the data in the Average Labor Rate report instead of spending time formatting data.
Solution:
For the third process, the team automated the task/process of creating the ‘average labor rate’ report. This task/process included querying the database for information, formatting excel sheets/pivot tables, and generating the average labor rate report. The report was then emailed to the process/project owner among other employees in the department.
Fourth Process:
The automation of identifying unused software licenses saves an unknown amount of capital for McKenney’s Inc. Further, the process also helps McKenney’s to deactivate licenses for employees who are no longer at the business safeguarding from potential misuse.
Solution:
For the fourth process, the team developed a ‘robot’ that would monitor activity across multiple business applications and generate a list of employee accounts whose licenses needed to be transferred or revoked due to inactivity.
