‘’Capotavola’’ è un cortometraggio diretto e prodotto da studenti del secondo anno di Accademia Cinema Toscana, ognuno dei quali si sta mettendo alla prova per dimostrare quanto vale e quanto ha da offrire in questo settore. 

Il progetto nasce dal sogno di dare voce a tutti coloro che si sono sentiti invisibili e fuori posto nelle loro famiglie, quelle che professano il bene comune e l’unione familiare, ma di fatto mettendo i figli spesso da parte e minando  alla loro autostima. Ai ragazzi che si sono sentiti vuoti interiormente ma pesanti sulle spalle, incapaci di vivere la propria vita.

‘’Capotavola’’ racconta il conflitto tra un figlio, Lucio e sua madre Mara.  Durante una cena in un ristorante cinese, nella notte delle lanterne, emergono i tratti del loro rapporto. La risoluzione di un indovinello, appeso alla lanterna sopra il tavolo, potrebbe essere per Lucio, un modo per uscire dal spiacevole confronto e trovare le risposte che sta cercando. 

Il corto sarà un prodotto onirico e simbolista, una sperimentazione della trasposizione di un teen-drama con espedienti inusuali per il genere.

"Capotavola" is a short film directed and produced by second-year students of Accademia Cinema Toscana, each of whom is putting himself to the test to prove what he is worth and what he has to offer in this sector.

The project was born from the dream of giving voice to all those who have felt invisible and out of place in their families, whose who profess the common good and family union, and in reality putting children often aside and undermining their self-esteem. Dedicated to young people who felt empty inwardly but heavy on their shoulders, unable to live their lives in peace.

‘’Capotavola’’ tells the story of a family conflict between a son, Lucio and his mother Mara. During a dinner at a Chinese restaurant, on Chinese lanterns festival Night, the traits of their relationship emerge. Solving a riddle, hanging from the lantern above the table, could be for Lucio, a way to get out of the unpleasant confrontation and a way to find the answers he is looking for.
