Mission Numbers

To support the CAP/NASA 2026 Aviation Skywatch Mission, each CAP region will request mission numbers. These numbers will help track participation, facilitate data collection, and allow for deconfliction with other CAP missions/training exercises with overlapping operational periods. These numbers also will allow CAP members to use their participation towards their ES training requirements. 

The CAP/NASA 2026 Aviation Skywatch Mission is classified as a B mission.  This mission is classified as "NASA unfunded. Wings pay costs." If a squadron decides to travel to participate in this mission in a different community, it must be cleared by travel with their Wing and Region Incident Commander. The unit will also be responsible for its own funding for fuel, and a different mission must be used for the transportation sortie.
