Coach O grew up in Murrieta, California. From ages 4-18 she trained at her local dance studio, Studio 31 Dance Center. During high school, she was a 3 year member of the Murrieta Valley Varsity Dance Team!
In 2012, placing 5th in the Nation with her high school dance team at UDA Nationals for their Jazz routine and being featured on ESPN. She later went onto dancing at Riverside City College, and placed 11th in the Nation at UDA College Nationals.
She then moved onto being the head coach for Borah High School for 3 years. She also danced for the Idaho Horsemen, Lady Spurs Dance Team for 4 years and coached for one year. Coach O is stoked to join our Golden Girls family and can’t wait for the season to start!
Coach Alyssia grew up in the valley and cheered at Mountain View High School from 2010 to 2014! Currently, she works full-time as an Engineer at Photronics which is a nanofabrication facility that makes photomasks, a very small stamp for electronics. She served for nine years in the Air National Guard as an avionics technician working on the A-10. She joined after high school then went to school when she knew what she wanted to study. She cheered for five years, 2017-2022, at North Carolina State University. She had the honor of being their first fifth year female athlete, during her time there she was able to be captain for multiple years and is a 2018 NCA College Cheerleading National Champion. There is nothing like competing on the bandshell in Daytona Beach.
She coached skills for a high school team, Holly Springs, in North Carolina for three years. They won State in 2018 and 2019. From 2017 to 2021 she worked for NCA in the summers as a collegiate and high school camp instructor for the entire southeast region, this allowed her to work with athletes at various skill levels. After completing her Electrical Engineering degree, she was so excited to return home to Boise! Last season she coached at Meridian and choreographed their individual stunt which we took to state!
Her coaching motto is to build great people, not just great athletes. She loves coaching and is very passionate about cheerleading. Being able to coach on the east coast allowed me to learn various new techniques she can’t wait to bring to Capital! Go Eagles!!
