About Cub Scout Pack 234

If you are new to Scouting, you can go here and get in-depth information about Frequently Asked Questions, History, Purposes/Methods, Benefits, and Character Development.

Our goal at Pack 234 is for our scouts to have fun and learn at the same time. Scouting prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Cub Scout Promise, Law of the Pack, and Cub Scout Motto.

Cub Scouts learn new things, discover and master new skills, gain self-confidence, and develop strong friendships. They get satisfaction from meeting challenges, being part of a team, and feeling they are important to the Pack.

Scouting at Pack 234 is a family-oriented part of the BSA program designed for boys who are in first through fifth grades (or are 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age). Our Parents, Pack Leaders, and our Sponsoring Organization work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:

  • Character Development
  • Spiritual Growth
  • Good Citizenship
  • Sportsmanship and Fitness
  • Family Understanding
  • Respectful Relationships
  • Personal Achievement
  • Friendly Service
  • Fun and Adventure
  • Preparation for Boy Scouts

All the activities our leaders plan (and boys enjoy) will relate to one or more of these purposes. These purposes help us achieve the overall aims of the BSA of character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

Cub Scout Pack 234 is part of the Northeast Cape Fear District of the Cape Fear Council, (Boy Scouts Of America). The Council charters Pack 234 and defines the guidelines for Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs in our area.

The Pack is very fortunate to be sponsored by the Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church and we generally use the church's classroom facilities for our Den meetings and the sanctuary for our Pack meetings (unless otherwise noted by on the Pack Calendar).
