Privacy Policy

CapEdition — Video & Photo Editor

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This policy applies to the CapEdition — Video & Photo Editor Chrome extension (CapEdition Free). It describes the extension’s local editing functions and distinguishes them from optional support communications and external websites. The separate CapEdition Windows application is outside the scope of this extension policy.

1. Local processing and no server uploads

For the Chrome extension’s editing and export functions:

CapEdition does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information, user data, or media files to external servers. All video and photo rendering operations are processed strictly locally within the user's browser.

The extension does process the files and edits you provide on your own device. Temporary session data and the locally saved language preference are explained below. No account, sign-in, or payment is required to use the extension.

2. Information processed on your device

The extension accesses only the media files you choose through the file picker or drag into the editor, together with information needed to edit them, such as file names, dimensions, duration, and embedded audio. It also processes text overlays, timeline arrangements, and editing settings you enter.

This information is used solely to import, preview, edit, and export your content. The extension does not upload it, make it available to the developer, or share it with third parties.

3. Local storage, retention, and deletion

The developer has no server copy of your editing session to access, restore, or delete.

4. Tracking, permissions, and data sharing

The extension contains no advertising, analytics, tracking scripts, or telemetry. It does not access your browsing history, other websites’ contents, camera, or microphone. It does not request host permissions or sensitive extension permissions, and it does not use Google account APIs.

The extension does not sell, rent, disclose, or transfer your editing data. It does not use that data for advertising, profiling, data brokerage, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.

CapEdition’s handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for the local editing and export functions described in this policy.

5. Optional external websites

Links to the developer’s website, Windows downloads, and Windows Pro information open only when you choose them. The extension does not include your media, file names, edits, email address, account details, or license information in those links.

Visiting an external website creates a separate interaction with that website. It may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser information. Accounts and purchases on the developer’s website are governed by its website privacy policy.

This policy page is hosted on Google Sites. Google may process information about visits to this page under the Google Privacy Policy. Hosting this page does not give Google Sites access to media being edited in the extension.

6. Voluntary support communications

If you email support, the developer receives your email address and any information or attachments you choose to send. These are used to respond to your request and are handled through Google (Gmail), our email service provider. The extension does not automatically send support messages or attach your media.

Support correspondence may be retained until you request deletion, subject to applicable legal retention requirements. You can request access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided to support by contacting the address below.

7. Policy updates

We will update this page when our privacy practices change and revise the date above. Any future changes to data handling will be disclosed in the policy and, where required, in the extension before the new handling begins.
