Courtney & Natalie
Hello!
My name is Courtney Templeton and I'm the owner and teacher at Capable Hands Preschool.
Before creating Capable Hands in 2022, I taught elementary school in Georgia, Florida, and Colorado for 15 years. Prior to my elementary school teaching career, I worked as a preschool teacher at Florida State University's research preschool for many years in college. It was there that I learned about early childhood development, how a preschool program is run, and how to meet the diverse needs of toddlers.
Additionally, I have been a summer camp counselor at Girl's Place in Gainesville, Florida and have taught English to Italian children at summer camps in Italy. For fun, I enjoy reading, dancing, studying and speaking Italian, gardening, baking, crafting, hiking, and thrift shopping.
How It All Started...
Capable Hands Preschool began organically in the fall of 2021 as I struggled to find a reliable, high quality, affordable setting for my own daughter to grow in that matched both my teacher's schedule and personal philosophy as an educator. As a teacher, I specifically wanted to spend holidays and the summer with my child and have a break from the expense of daycare. I know I'm not alone in these goals.
This vision ultimately led me to create what I was seeking, and thus Capable Hands Preschool was born.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our program. Please reach out with questions! I look forward to connecting with your family and meeting your child!
