If you want a robust, multi-port hub that handles dual charging and data transfer alongside audio for running, choose caojunzhen 2; if you need a lightweight, compact dongle specifically optimized for high-resolution audio playback while charging on modern USB-C devices, choose Lakeronelove USB C.
• caojunzhen 2: Its biggest strength is the 2+3 port versatility, allowing simultaneous Lightning/USB-C charging and audio output with data transfer capabilities; its trade-off is a bulkier design that might feel less streamlined for quick transitions.
• Lakeronelove USB C: It excels as a portable, plug-and-play solution with support for ultra-high resolution audio up to 32-bit/384kHz; its trade-off is the lack of data transfer features and a simpler two-port configuration.
• The caojunzhen 2 is best for users who need a central command station for multiple connections during long runs or commutes.
• The Lakeronelove USB C is ideal for runners who prioritize a minimal footprint and maximum audio fidelity without extra ports.
The caojunzhen 2 is designed for the power user who refuses to compromise on connectivity. If your morning routine involves managing multiple devices or if you are running in conditions where battery anxiety is real, this adapter stands out because it combines five distinct functions into one unit. You get the ability to charge via both USB-C and Lightning simultaneously while listening to music through either a 3.5mm jack or a USB-C headphone. This level of flexibility is rare in a single dongle and speaks directly to someone who needs a reliable, all-in-one tool rather than a collection of separate cables.
For the runner who relies on their phone for navigation, music, and calls, the caojunzhen 2 offers peace of mind through its powerful internal chip. Furthermore, the inclusion of data transfer capability sets it apart from many competitors in this space. If you ever need to sync files or connect to other peripherals while on the go, this adapter handles those tasks without missing a beat. The Hi-Fi sound quality, backed by 16-bit/192kHz DACs, ensures that your music remains crisp, but the true selling point here is the sheer number of ways you can interface with your technology.
However, this product is not for everyone. If you value a sleek, unobtrusive profile that disappears into your pocket or armband, the caojunzhen 2 might feel too substantial. It is a "2 plus 3" adapter, meaning it carries more hardware inside to manage the complex routing of signals and power. While this complexity brings functionality, it also adds physical presence. You should skip this option if you only ever use one type of cable or if you never need to transfer data alongside your audio stream. It is a powerhouse for specific, demanding use cases, but it may be overkill for a casual listener who just wants to plug in and go.

The Lakeronelove USB C adapter targets the runner who prioritizes simplicity and audio purity above all else. This device is a streamlined 2-in-1 solution that focuses entirely on getting music to your ears while keeping your battery charged. With a compact length of just 14 cm, it is engineered for portability. You can easily tuck it into a small pocket or a dedicated earbud case without adding significant weight or bulk to your running gear. For someone who hates fumbling with multiple adapters or tangled cords, the plug-and-play nature of this dongle is a massive win. There are no drivers to install and no apps to configure; you simply connect it to your USB-C port, and the system recognizes it immediately.
Where this adapter truly shines for an audiophile runner is in its support for higher resolution audio formats. While many standard adapters cap out at 24-bit/96kHz, the Lakeronelove pushes up to 32-bit and 384kHz. This specification suggests a deeper dynamic range and clearer detail retrieval, which can make a noticeable difference when you are pushing hard and your focus is on the rhythm of your track. The device also maintains volume control capabilities while fast-charging, ensuring you can adjust your playlist intensity without breaking stride. The support for up to 60W PD charging means you won't be left stranded with a dying battery, making it a viable companion for long-distance training sessions where access to a wall outlet is nonexistent.
That said, there are clear limitations to consider. This adapter does not support data transfer, so you cannot use it to move files or connect to external drives. Additionally, it lacks the dual-port versatility of the caojunzhen 2, offering only one charging path and one audio path. If you own a mix of older Lightning devices and newer USB-C gadgets and want to swap between them using a single hub, this won't work for you. It is strictly a USB-C to 3.5mm bridge. You should choose this product if your workflow is linear: charge and listen. If you find yourself needing to juggle multiple connection types or require data syncing, this simple design will feel restrictive.
• Best for Multi-Device Versatility → caojunzhen 2: With its unique ability to handle both Lightning and USB-C inputs while supporting data transfer, this is the superior choice for users with mixed ecosystems.
• Best for High-Resolution Audio Fidelity → Lakeronelove USB C: The 32-bit/384kHz support offers a potential edge in sound clarity compared to the standard specifications found in many competing adapters.
• Best for Data Transfer Needs → caojunzhen 2: Only this model explicitly supports data transmission, making it essential for users who need to sync information alongside audio playback.
• Best for Minimalist Portability → Lakeronelove USB C: At 14 cm, its slim profile makes it significantly easier to carry in tight running pockets or armbands without snagging.
• Best for Complex Charging Scenarios → caojunzhen 2: The dual charging ports allow for more flexible power management setups that a single-port adapter cannot match.
• Best for Simple Plug-and-Play Usage → Lakeronelove USB C: No drivers, no confusion, just a direct connection for audio and power that works instantly upon insertion.
• Best for Long Battery Life Bluetooth Headset Integration → caojunzhen 2: The robust power handling and multiple output options make it a stable foundation for powering various accessories simultaneously.
• Best Value for Single-Task Users → Lakeronelove USB C: If you only need one function—listening and charging—it delivers that specific task with high-fidelity specs without unnecessary bloat.
After analyzing the technical specifications and considering the specific demands of running, I would buy the Lakeronelove USB C. For a runner, every gram counts, and the 14 cm length of this adapter feels like the right balance between durability and discretion. While the caojunzhen 2 is impressive for its multi-port capabilities, most runners do not need data transfer or dual charging inputs while they are moving. The Lakeronelove's focus on high-resolution audio up to 32-bit/384kHz aligns perfectly with the desire for a motivating, high-quality soundtrack during a run. It is a clean, efficient tool that gets out of the way and lets the music play. In my opinion, the simplicity and audio specs make it the better choice for anyone looking for a long battery life bluetooth headset for running setup without the hassle of managing a complex hub.
Yes, if you plan to use bone conduction headphones that require a USB-C connection, the caojunzhen 2 offers more flexibility with its dual charging and data transfer options, though both adapters support standard audio outputs.
Absolutely. Both adapters allow you to listen to audio while charging, which is essential for night runs or early morning sessions where you might want to use sleep-friendly audio modes without draining your battery.
Both models support up to 60W PD fast charging, but the manufacturers recommend using a PD wall charger to ensure you get the fastest possible charging speeds for your device.
No, both the caojunzhen 2 and the Lakeronelove USB C are plug-and-play devices that do not require any driver installations or additional applications to function.
