This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome Extension to extract and reformat quiz data from Canvas LMS.
The Extension acts as a local tool within your browser. We access the following types of information:
Website Content: When triggered by the user, the Extension reads the text and structure of quiz questions and answers from the active Canvas tab.
User Preferences: We may store minor configuration settings (such as your preferred export format) locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
We do not own any servers, and we do not store your data. Data processing occurs in two places:
Locally: Your browser extracts the quiz content.
Google Gemini API: The extracted text is sent to the Google Gemini API to be processed and reformatted. This transmission is encrypted via HTTPS.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties. The only third party that receives your data is Google (via the Gemini API) for the sole purpose of providing the AI reformatting service. Your data usage is subject to Google’s Generative AI Terms of Service.
No Remote Storage: We do not retain any of your scraped content on our own systems.
Local Storage: Any preferences saved via the chrome.storage API remain on your local device until you clear your browser data or uninstall the extension.
We prioritize the security of your data. All communication between the Extension and the Gemini API is performed over a secure, encrypted HTTPS connection.
You have full control over your data. You can:
Stop data collection at any time by closing the Extension or navigating away from the Canvas page.
Delete all local settings by uninstalling the Extension.
