Tired of jumping between pages just to figure out what’s overdue or what needs your attention today? K12 Helper for Canvas is a simple browser extension that adds two powerful widgets right to your Canvas dashboard, helping you stay organized and on top of your coursework.
Getting started takes less than a minute!
Visit the official extension page on the Chrome Web Store: CLICK HERE!
Click “Add to Chrome.”
When prompted, select “Add extension.”
Open your Canvas dashboard and refresh the page.
That’s it! Your new widgets will appear automatically at the top of the main dashboard area.
Once installed, the extension adds two collapsible sections to your Canvas dashboard and course home pages. Just click their titles to show or hide them as needed.
Quickly see all assignments that are past their due date but still open for submission.
Filter by Type: Use the checkboxes (Discussion, Quiz, Assignment) to display only what you want. “Select All” and “Select None” make it easy to toggle everything at once.
Sortable Columns: Click any column header (Course, Title, Due, or Until) to sort the list. Click again to reverse the order.
Direct Links: Click an assignment title to open its submission page instantly.
Think of this as your daily command center—it gathers all assignments and calendar events (like lessons or help labs) scheduled for today.
Mark as Complete: Use the checkboxes to track your progress. It’s your personal visual checklist—nothing is submitted or sent to your teacher.
Show/Hide Completed: Hide finished items by unchecking “Show Completed Items” to stay focused on what’s left.
Filter & Sort: Filter by type (Lesson or Graded Item) or sort any column for easier viewing.
Direct Links: Click a title to go straight to the matching Canvas page.
Q: I installed the extension, but I don’t see the widgets.
A: The widgets appear on your main Dashboard and Course Home pages only. If you’re on another page (like Grades or a specific assignment), navigate back to your dashboard to view them.
Q: If I check the “Done” box, will my teacher know?
A: Nope! That checklist is completely private. It’s stored securely in your browser and never shared with your teacher or school.
Q: Is this extension safe? What about my data?
A: Absolutely. Privacy is built in from the start. The extension only connects to your official Canvas site at learn1.k12.com and doesn’t send data anywhere else. You can review the full Privacy Policy here.
Q: How do I report a bug or request a feature?
A: We’d love your feedback! Send an email to canvask12helper@gmail.com with your thoughts or suggestions.
We hope K12 Helper for Canvas helps you stay organized, reduce stress, and make your school day a little smoother!
