Become a Canva Creative Power House using these quick tips & more! 

1. Search for your Niche Specific Templates vs searching for specific dimensions or blank designs.

2. Utilize "Brand Hub" to add your own personal Brand Kits, colors, and specialized fonts.

3. Use "Styles" in Design Tab to add your own personal brand Kits, colors, and specialized fonts. Once this has been added, you can use the styles tab on any design! Think of this like your "design vault."

4. Use Background Remover tool to remove any background on any photo, or illustration. This is a "Canva pro" only tool.*

5. Know your Canva Limitations:

• Any logos created in Canva, cannot be trademarked, see licensing rules here

• Always reach out to Canva support team if you have any questions

• Canva Website is only a link to a designed page, not a functional website and does not have SEO capability

6. Colors should be selected that compliment your photos, graphics or current animations within your design. Use the color dropper tool or reference your color panel with "photo colors."

7. Font Choices for your design  should be limited to no more than 2 font styles only. This avoids making your design look too busy and unprofessional.

8. Get inspiration outside of Canva, try behance.net! This is a platform where professional designers show off their polished work and more.

9. Use "Whiteboard templates" in Canva to create various mood boards and collect inspirational images that you can paste into your whiteboard document.

10. Use Consistent Spacing shortcuts tools like: “space evenly and tidy up.”

11. Select the Typography style choice and recognize when to use serif vs san serif fonts.

12. Share designs with others and generate custom QR codes for templates that you have created, other designs and more.

13. Duplicate any design on Home page or within your design document.

14. Use the Grouping tool to combine elements together.

15. Make sure to "Lock" elements to secure and freeze on page, you can always unlock when desired.

16. Use Keyboard Shortcuts by typing the following Letters:

L: Line

R: Rectangle

C: Circle

T: Text

17. Present and record any presentation easily.

18. Add notes to your presentation by selecting "presenter view" from the present option in top right hand corner*
