Taiko no Tatsujin is available now (for $50) on the digital download storefronts of Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
You can play using the normal system controllers. If however you want the drum, you have to order it from Japan.
🆓If you can’t buy the official version, you can also play Taiko for free! using this unofficial website created by a fan. (I recommend using a computer, not a phone or iPad.) It doesn’t work as well as the official version, but it is free!
This is what it will look like if you get the drum from amazon.co.jp. It will cost around $67 including shipping.
I made a mistake in this video – I forgot to show the red plastic piece that connects the two “legs” together in the back for stability. Oops.
