Canterbury Team Sailing

Canterbury Team Sailing was established in 2016 to deliver a higher level of sailing in Christchurch. Every week sailors from Christchurch Boys' High School, Christ's College and Saint Andrew's College meet at Naval Point Club Lyttelton to train for national events.

The secondary school event is held during late April where schools over New Zealand compete, learn new skills and make new friends with over 200 competitors participating. The challenge of the event is that it is solely team based; meaning that the result is dependent upon all sailors within the team and not just about coming first in the race.

We are very grateful to be proudly supported by the Canterbury Yachting Association for providing 420 class dinghies and equipment to be used after school on weekdays. Our vision is to grow the sport in Canterbury and get more people involved into sailing and join the sport for life.

We have a dedicated group of experienced parent helpers and coaches that provide the best future development for Team Sailing in Canterbury.
