Overview

Canopy Slate is a personal plant record application. It helps users create plant profiles, store plant photos, record watering activity, write journal notes, and view plant statistics. This policy explains how information is handled by the app.

Information We Collect

The app stores information that you enter or select inside the application, including plant names, planted dates, soil type, light requirement, notes, health ratings, watering intervals, watering history, journal entries, and selected plant photo file paths. Plant images selected from your device may be displayed inside the app. This information is stored locally on your device using Hive local storage.

Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Canopy Slate does not intentionally collect account credentials, names beyond plant names you enter, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, contacts, microphone recordings, camera recordings, advertising identifiers, or analytics events. The app does not include an account system, authentication system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash reporting SDK, or cloud sync feature.

How We Use Information

Locally stored information is used to show your plant records, calculate plant age and health readouts, display watering history, support journal entries, and maintain the app experience across launches.

Data Sharing

The app does not sell your plant records or share them with a developer-operated server. Information may be processed by third-party services only when those services are used by app features described below.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Google Play Billing through the in_app_purchase package for optional voluntary contribution purchases. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play according to Google's own terms and policies. The app also opens the privacy policy URL in a WebView and requires internet permission for this page and billing-related services. The app uses image selection functionality so you can choose photos from your device.

Data Storage and Security

Plant records are stored locally on your device. Canopy Slate does not implement a separate cloud backup or developer-hosted database. The app does not claim additional encryption beyond the protections provided by your device, operating system, and storage environment.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your plant records remain on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual records through app flows where available, or use Delete All Data to remove plant records and their history from the app's local storage. Removing the app may also remove locally stored app data depending on your device settings.

Children's Privacy

Canopy Slate is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

User Choices

You control the plant information you add, the photos you select, and whether you make optional contribution purchases. Contributions are voluntary and do not provide additional features or content.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the app changes. The effective date will be revised when updates are made.
