Just unpacked the photo scanner an as per the instruction downloaded the software. The installation gets as far as connecting the USB cable (and then turn on scanner) but does not recognize any connection. The port on the PC is fine (tried other devi...

I recently bought a new computer. I managed to install everything but ran into a problem with my LID 220 scanner. I installed Adobe Photo Studio but found that it would not scan. While running the Preview in Photo Studio I am told that the scanner is...

I like to buy a 2nd hand Canon 9000f Mk2 scanner for scanning in 35mm negatives and slides. The scanner does not come with the 35mm film and slide holders, you can get each of these from ebay for 14.99 - 20 + postage and from Ali Express for a simi...

I've been using my Canoscan 9950F for a long time to digitize my dad's negatives, slides, and prints, as well as some of my own. I've kept Photoshop Elements 8 on my computer because it has always recognized the scanner's TWAIN driver, whereas newer ...

I have not been able to use my LiDE 100 scanner with my Windows 11 PC. I know the scanner is "retired", but it worked fine with my Windows 10 PC and I'd rather not buy a new scanner if possible.I installed the Windows 7/8 driver and MX Navigator from...

I have a Canon R40 ImageFormula scanner. A few months back, it stopped working. The included software wouldn't work. Said it had a "TWAIN" error. I tried every suggestion folks put out there. Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, the whole software package, etc. No luck with any of that.

So I have a useless scanner and an ever-increasing stack of documents I can't scan. It may be that a Microsoft update changed something and that started this whole issue. I wouldn't really know. I'm an end user, not a tech guy. What I do know is, the device I paid Canon hundreds of dollars for isn't working. I'd really appreciate a solution. For that matter, even some courtesy, where a Canon representative says, "yes, we know, and we're working on a fix" and a timeframe for when this will be done would be nice. Can someone please get on this?

Thanks for the suggestion. VueScan says it can't see the scanner, either. I'm pretty sure it's a Windows issue that started this, but in the end, it's Canon's issue, since they need their software to keep up with whatever crap Microsoft has now inflicted upon us. (I paid Canon for a scanner, and I want it to work.) Anyhow, thanks for that suggestion!

So it sure looks like Canon is treating this as support. And I'm not expecting immediate results. I've been living with a non-working scanner for months, as well as asking here. So any chance Canon will come up with a solution soon?

I called Canon support after having this problem following an upgrade to Win 11. They instructed me to run the "Restoration Tool for Windows Registry" found on the Drivers and Downloads page under the Utilities tab. The "Readme" file included explains that it solves a Windows registry inconsistency that can keep the scanner from being recognized by Windows.

I have a new mac laptop (first mac). My printer/scanner is a Canon MX452. The printer shows up in my list of printers in System Preferences "Printer & Scanners" and I can print from my Mac to the printer. I've got the printer set up and working. However, the same device is also a scanner, but it does not list itself as one there and gives no scan option.

I downloaded the scan driver from the Canon website, and I have "Canon IJ Scan Utility" in my applications. I can open that, but when I try to scan it says Scanner is turned off or USB cable is disconnected. My scanner is on, but I don't have the computer attached to it with a cable. I want to wirelessly scan (just like I can print).

I can print wirelessly from my Mac, but my Pixma MX522 scanner doesn't work since I downloaded Catalina. I downloaded the software Canon IJNetwork Tool 4.7.2 and Quick Menu 2.8 with no effect. Where to go, what to do? Thanks.

I just purchased a Canon Pixma G7020 and have set it up wirelessly. I have been able to print from my computer but not scan. I downloaded the Scanner Utility and tried to set it up. It's not recognizing the scanner. I get the same message as mentioned in earlier posts.

I tried to scan directly from the printer/scanner itself, using the panel, but that requires saving a scanned image to the computer. Since the machine doesn't work wirelessly, the only save option requires me to connect the machine via a USB cable rather than wirelessly.

As stated above, you will find all of your available support options within your My Canon Account (including live phone support, if it is available for your product) at canon.us/account

If you're outside of the United States (this site is hosted and moderated by Canon USA, and all Canon employees are here in the United States, which means we do not support anyone outside of the United States), you will need to reach out to Canon in your country or region. You will find information to contact them at global.canon/en/support

I already tried to communicate by email and phone with the custumer service and this has been useless - I was able to figure out how to print wirelessly by myself, but scanner would still not communicate with my mac. I don't understand that in 2020, Canon is unable to provide good (and helpful) information for mac users and that we always encounter the same recurring problems when it comes to Canon printers/scanners.

Follow the steps below to specify the scanner or printer you want to use on your network. If you change the scanner you use with IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, you will also need to change it with IJ Scan Utility. (See the next section below for instructions.)

The IJ Scan Utility main screen reappears. You can now scan via a network connection.

If your scanner or printer doesn't appear, check the following, click OK to close the screen, then reopen it and try selecting again.

I have this Canon i-sensys MF724Cdw and cannot connect to scanner, but the problem is only with one PC. 4 other computers are connected and scanning from device to pc. I can open the printer adress in browser (configure it) and theire both on the same network and everything is fine. I try to scan the network for device and also try to add it manually but it just says: The device of the specified IP adress is not found...

1. I have excluded network problems because I made a local network with no limitations between PC (windows 10 and also windows 7) and scanner and still cant find the scanner. Other brand multifunctionals like Brother and Epson work in this same newtork.

Is the scanner connected directly to a USB port on the laptop or motherboard? Since you have already investigated the software route, have you tried replacing the cable and testing on a different port?

I am having the same problem, however re-booting does not work for me. What did work for a few days was moving the usb cable to another usb port, but now that does not work. So my scanner is useless for now.

I recently came in to possession of a MASSIVE number of family photos that were buried in a closet. (thousands of photos). I looked in to "digitization" costs; expecting it to be cheaper than obtaining new prints, usually .10c a photo or so. (as I imagined those organizations owned massive megascanners that could burn 1000 photos in 5 minutes with minimal labor and near 0 overhead). Turns out I could buy a mega scanner of my own for what they charge to digitize this many photos. ff782bc1db
