Hi there!

I'm getting a red ! on the synch icon and the error is listed as:

An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made

Nothing seems to be synching. I'm running 6.7.1, I know, my system is super old, that's the most up to date one I can get on my very old mac OS.

Bear in mind that this problem happened after the client had been successfully reinstalled from scratch via MDM, which happened AFTER all our certificate changes. So: the new certificate arrangements were working well enough to get a client all the way through the installation process. Then, suddenly, while I was on holiday and nobody was changing anything, that client stopped working. "An SSL error has occurred" isn't hugely helpful in figuring out just what, exactly, it doesn't like. I can't even tell whether it's the client that is unhappy with the server, or the server that is unhappy with the client. Or both!

Anyway, please confirm if you did it like I wrote, or something different so we can help what to do next. Also consult /var/log/gitlab/error.log or /var/log/gitlab/gitlab_error.log files as this might also hint if something is incorrectly configured.

When Receiver is initiating the connection it verifies whether the cert is valid , for that it looks for the intermediate cert and root cert in the User's trusted certificate folder . And when its not able to create a trusted link , it might generate this type of error .

I have checked the CSR file that you have provided and I can assure that this was correctly generated. The error that you are currently encountering is caused because you are using a wrong command line for installing the CSR. You will need to modify this domain.com.crt from your command line with the according name of your domain.

Edit: thanks to @dave_thompson_085, who points out that this answer no longer applies in 2019. That is, Apache/OpenSSL are now tolerant of ^M-terminated lines, so they don't cause problems. That said, other formatting errors, several different examples of which appear in the comments, can still cause problems; check carefully for these if the certificate has been moved across systems.

For anyone arriving at this page with a similar error when trying to read a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) (note that OP is reading a certificate): make sure to use the right OpenSSL command. x509 is for certificates and req is for CSRs:

all I had to do was rename my .crt to a .pem, and I was done! The guide indicated that the errors from the OP's question imply that the input file is PEM formatted already, so attempting to convert it to .pem from a DER format cannot be done, and is in fact unnecessary.

Today just figured out our version of this problem - Check your computer time, if it is 1 minute off, it could affect postman requests.

Discovered today that my computer time was not automatically updating and it was 1 minute ahead, which messed up the requests and gave the same error

These are Microsoft OIDs, which brought me back to Go issue crypto/x509: error parsing large ASN.1 identifiersĀ  Issue #49678Ā  golang/goĀ  GitHub I mentioned above, which appears fixed. You are running this on a 64-bit system?

Hey @clay, is there any chance you can chip in on this? I found very similar issues across the web, but none of the solutions is specific to Local by Flywheel: -error-60-ssl-certificate-unable-to-get-local-issuer-certificate

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.

Hi. I purchased a 2nd hand Ruckus 7982 hoping to use it as a standalone AP at home. I cannot access its setup via IP address 192.168.0.1 and it gives the error below. It only lights up the green PWR Led. Any advice for me please? Thank you.

Maybe it is an old config of a not-used-anymore service ? You can try to comment this line (you may have a ssl_certificate_key directive too) and re-run the sudo nginx -t command to check if there is no more error.

If you ran 0.37.0 and started getting this error, I believe you will need to edit your Apache or Nginx configs by hand to re-enable session tickets (or make sure they are disabled consistently across all virtualhosts).

SSL errors on your site can severely damage your brand reputation, push visitors away and affect your SEO ranking. To prevent any of these negative outcomes, you should promptly fix this kind of error on your website. Thus, knowing what SSL errors mean and how to mend them is crucial for your business.

Your browser displays this error message when the site you are trying to access has insecure content. This usually happens when you install an SSL certificate and configure your site to work with HTTPS.

You will surely agree that the best protection from SSL errors is prevention, and you can achieve this with monitoring. To monitor your SSL certificates effectively, you can use a Chrome browser extension that detects validity, expiration, and changes in the certificate.

I have a user who uses both an iPad and an iPhone. They had an issue with their iPhone and the Workspace ONE apps were removed. When he went back to re-enroll his device he is now getting SSL errors when trying to enroll using the HUB app. Our certificate is not expired and is signed by a trusted CA as we are not having an issue with other users enrolling their devices. I am sort of at a loss on what could be causing this issue. It does appear that things are working fine on his iPad. Has anyone experienced something like this with a user using an iPhone? We have tried resetting the network settings and clearing the browser cache.

Just to add to this, he is not able to access the self service portal either in Safari on the iPhone due to an SSL error but is able to from the iPad. To me it sounds like the CA trust file is corrupt or missing some information but I am just guessing on that.

There are 2 different DNS names for this website, that map to 2 different virtual hosts on a NetScaler appliance that then routes the traffic to the same cluster of web servers in the back end. This issue affects both websites, with the same error message being shown for each.

Does anyone have any suggestions on things we should check or how we can troubleshoot this further? SSL is clearly working, even from the Checkmk server, because otherwise the certificate age check would have the same error.

Again this is why I wanted to see the error, it might have said something like localhost does not match Subject Alternative Name and I could have been steered in the right direction to figure it out right away.

Step 1 passes, step 2 fails with a similar error

I thought this might be a problem for other users as well .if there are SSL cerificate errors on your web site and saw that this is not the first time, e.g. (there are others)

This might be a silly question, but are your system time & date correct? The developers say that this could cause SSL certificate errors. They have tried to replicate your issue but were not able to trigger the same error.

I just purchased the Family Plan, and downloaded the 1Password iPhone app. While trying to sign in to the app, I enter all my information and hit "sign in", and it gives me the message: "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." I also must solve this issue or cancel my subscription. Please help as soon as possible.

No security / vpn issue. Date and time are correct. If i cannot solve it, i need to get my money back because thats the whole reason you buy the program is for portability and sharability. Yes i can log in on my computer in my office where i set up the original seat, which place has a firewall and strict security. Are there any settings within an iphone 6S that affect this?

I used to be able to access the web interface all the time. I haven't had a need in several months. Now whenever I try to connect, regardless of the browser, I get errors about SSL being out of date and access being refused. How do I update the copier or get around this restriction?
