Candy Bomber?

Candy Bomber is a blues/folk/rock duo from Santa Fe, New Mexico featuring guitarist/singer/songwriter Michael Evan Sheppard and thirteen year old drumming talent Leo Carlton Sheppard.

Michael honed his craft in the 1990’s under the mentorship of Rolf Cahn, teacher to Jerry Garcia, Jorma Kaukonen, and Bob Dylan.  Michael’s driving fingerstyle guitar, thoughtful lyrics, and engaging stage performances have gained the praise of Grammy winning songwriter Steve Seskin who says, “Michael combines strong writing and interesting chords into powerful songs.” Vocal coach Ron Browning (Alison Krauss, Keb Mo) calls Michael “A true artist who tells great stories - the kind that are always needed here in Nashville.”  ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Darrell Scott calls Michael’s work, “Advanced level songwriting.”

Leo is quickly gaining reputation as one of the top drummers in the Santa Fe area. Night after night his solid grooves and improvisational solos bring audiences to their feet.

Candy Bomber has gigged regionally since 2017 and plays a mix of original and traditional rocking blues and folk-rock in the styles of The Grateful Dead,  Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna), Jim Croce, and Dave Matthews.
