Since returning to academia in 2024:
Co-organizer for Brown's Algebraic Geometry seminar.
Co-organizer for the Duke Math Circles, primarily focused on expanding math circles to reach underrepresented student groups in the Durham area. I spearhead the collaboration with the Emily K Center.
Volunteer teacher with Afghanistan Education Action, an organization that seeks to provide quality online instruction for students in Afghanistan who have lost the right to formal education.
Between my PhD (2020) and return to academia (2024):
I am a former member of the board of trustees of Brooklyn Lab Charter School, where I helped the school's leadership team think through executive-level aspects of governance, management (e.g., strategic and financial planning), fundraising, and board development. I was the chair of the Development & Nominating Committee.
I spent a year in industry at Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM), where I worked on program operations strategy projects like streamlining the student admissions process, standardizing the instructor hiring process, and leading a stipend initiative for summer STEM programs like Canada/USA Mathcamp.
While I was at BEAM, I led BEAM's involvement in the STEM PUSH network, a consortium of pre-college STEM programs focused on broadening diverse participation in STEM fields through evidence-based enrichment practices.
During my PhD:
I've worked with RefugeeEd, International Foundation for World Freedom, the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, and Stitchting Bootvluchteling.
I started the UofSC Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) student chapter with Dr. Paula Vasquez.
