(Florence Italy) - Videographer
The Digital Michelangelo project was a groundbreaking endeavor that aimed to digitize Michelangelo's sculptures and Italian architecture using advanced laser scanning technology. Led by Stanford University and the University of Washington, the project involved scanning numerous sculptures by Michelangelo, as well as architectural elements from Italy. The team, consisting of faculty, staff, and students, utilized cutting-edge laser rangefinder technology and sophisticated algorithms to capture detailed 3D data of these cultural artifacts. The ultimate goal was to create high-fidelity digital replicas of these masterpieces, making them accessible to scholars and the public alike for study and preservation. The project received sponsorship from Stanford University, Interval Research Corporation, the Paul G. Allen Foundation for the Arts, and involved collaboration with Italian museums and institutions.
