CancerSense was born out of the minds of our team to unite all people with one motive: to destroy the thing that unites them. We've known too many family members and friends who have fallen victim to this disease. We also know too many barriers in healthcare and education that can prevent people from surviving cancer. Our mission statement is "to promote cancer awareness via engaging conversations." We believe that words, spoken, handwritten, or typed, are the biggest game-changer in educating the populace about cancer.
The CancerSense team consists of existing chapter leaders of cancer awareness organizations such as the American Cancer Society, dedicated community service leaders, expert campaign fundraisers (especially with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), educators, competitive researchers, and even licensed healthcare professionals. We hope that our combined expertise proves a meaningful force in the realm of cancer education.
Some of our members have even flown to Nevada's capitol, Carson City, to fight for equitable healthcare policies that protect all in the face of cancer. With CancerSense, we hope we can make such journeys again and again!
Our team has hosted talks at local community centers, interviewed inspiring advocates, and has recently been approved of a domestic state nonprofit by the Nevada Secretary of State. We are actively filing for official 501(c)3 status.
If you see yourself in our team, don't hesitate to reach out or apply!
