The Droitwich Canals are a combination of the Droitwich Junction Canal, River Salwarpe and Droitwich Barge Canal, they were restored in 2011 and make a navigable route from the Birmingham and Worcester to the River Severn. Originally the canals were built to carry salt from the salt mines around Droitwich Spa. Below are some links related to this walk...

DROITWICH CANALS (PART 1)

In part one of my walk along the Droitwich Canals, we begin at Hanbury Junction on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, picking up the Droitwich Junction canal, which passes down the Hanbury locks and then under the M5 Motorway before making its way to the River Salwarpe. Then we continue along the River which has been turned into a canal to Vines Park at Droitwich Spa. Here we continue at Barge Lock picking up the Droitwich Barge Canal and finishing at The Railway Inn on Netherwich Bridge (16) Then we continue with a quick walk around Droitwich Spa town and Lido Park.

DROITWICH CANALS (PART 2)

In part two of my walk along the Droitwich Canals, we begin at The Railway Inn where we finished in part 1 on the edge of Vines Park and I make the short walk along the towpath to St Michael's Church, Salwarpe.

DROITWICH CANALS (PART 3)

In the third and final walk along the towpath of the Droitwich Canals, we begin at Salwarpe Bridge where we finished in part 2 and continue along to where the canals meet with the River Severn. This is the first time I took my new drone out for a test flight.
