Welcome to the official website for the Canadian Crime and Homelessness Study (CCHS)!
We are a group of researchers and research assistants conducting empirical studies on homelessness, criminality, drugs/drug markets, victimization, gangs, and more across Canada. This empirical work includes ethnographies on and interviews with those living on the streets in many communities across Canada.
We acknowledge the Indigenous peoples, including the Métis and Inuit, who have lived on and cared for the lands we now live, work, and study upon for generations. These territories are the ancestral homelands to culturally rich and diverse communities.
This work would not be possible without the participation of those with lived experiences across Canada – we thank you for being willing to spend time with us, teach us, and share your stories. Thank you!
On this website, you can find more information on our research projects, our research team, general information on homelessness and criminality in Canada, our published papers and reports, how to contact us, and more.
